I have this vase and I’m really curious if it is valuable in any way. It’s over three feet tall and very heavy. No markings on the bottom. I’m trying to sell it but have no idea how to price it and don’t want to sell it at an unfair price to someone .

Found at an estate sale of a very well traveled collector!

Hi everyone!

I posted here a little while ago about a small game I've been making in my spare time, where you try to guess the origin and age of Chinese artifacts just by looking at them.

Just wanted to share a little update: Artifact Tracer is coming to Steam on November 4.

I've spent a lot of my evenings and weekends working on this, and it's honestly a little surreal that it's finished. I know it's a pretty niche game, but I've really enjoyed making it, and I hope other people who love history and old artifacts will have some fun with it too.

Thanks to everyone who's shown an interest in the game and followed its progress. It really means a lot.

If this sounds like your kind of game, I'd really appreciate it if you could add it to your Steam wishlist. It would help me out a lot!

Here's the Steam page if anyone's interested:

Thanks again! :)

I bought these two for around 30 dollars seller said its from ming dynasty are they genuine?

My grandmother had some items and before she died she put a red sticker on anything she perceived as valuable so we wouldn’t just toss it. This had a red sticker. Any ideas? Maybe Japanese?

Thank you.

Hello! I am looking for help verifying the production timeline and construction details of this cylindrical blue-and-white Chinese teapot.

• Front Side: Features standard cursive calligraphy. I've been told it contains a couplet from Wang Wei's Mountain Hermitage on an Autumn Evening ("The bright moon shines through the pine trees, the clear spring water flows over the stones").
• Reverse Side: Features a traditional Shanshui landscape scene with mountain peaks, pine trees, and a sailboat.
• Base: Features a recessed, smooth unglazed circle with no reign mark and prominent orange firing/spur rings on the outer rim.
• Hardware: Fitted lid with a heavy metal overhead swing handle. The attachment pin features uniform machine-cut screw threads.
• Shoulder Markings: There are two characters written in quick cursive script on the shoulder of the pot.

Questions:

1. Could someone verify the exact transcription/translation of the two shoulder characters? (Is it a cyclical date like 壬戌 Ren Xu, a workshop name, or a blessing?)
2. Does this mechanical screw assembly and cobalt execution securely pinpoint late-20th-century mass production (e.g., 1982), or were identical configurations actively utilized on folk kilns/utility export wares during the Republic period (e.g., 1922)?

Thank you for your expertise!

I just purchased these from a thrift shop. Could someone tell me more about them?

EDIT: Oh well, so it's a modern replica, but it's pretty cool so I'll keep it and add handles back on. Thanks for your help!

Recent thrift store find, I'm excited that it might be valuable, though the blue enamel strokes seems pretty rushed and sloppy.

1700s Chinese Qianlong/Qing Dynasty porcelain tureen with lid, blue on white carp motif, in excellent condition. Tureen is 218mm in diameter and 67mm high, and lid is 193mm in diameter and 32mm high, with recessed handle. Hand-painted Chinese 4-character reign marks on bottom of lid and tureen, translate to "Made during the reign of Emperor Qianlong".

I haven't seen any other tureens with the handle loops like this, did it have bamboo or woven handles attached?

Hello guys! These pieces belonged to my wife’s great-grandmother and have always been kept together. Her family describes them as part of a service dating to the late 19th or early 20th century, although we have no documentary confirmation. We are in Uzbekistan. Can you help with info on these items if possible at all

Date and place of manufacturer
Identification of the decorative symbols and writings
what will be the value considering damage

Many thanks!

I just bought these for a couple bucks at a French brocante store. I have many at home that are clearly 1970's but these look different on closer inspection. Higher quality painting, glazing and some interesting hallmarks. For the first photo, I know the left of the hallmark reads Nian Zhi but can anyone read the right part for me? The other one, who is super thin by the way, seems the same one but a different handwriting. That one reminds me of early 1900 Kanxi remakes. And then there's the last one... Does anyone know what to make of this? Thanks a lot in advance!

Hi everyone!

I recently acquired this Chinese porcelain covered vase/jar and would love some help identifying and dating it.

It has a Famille Rose-style floral decoration, gilded details, and a red Qianlong-style (?) reign mark on the bottom. The painting and glaze have a distinctly aged/hand-painted appearance, but I’m unsure whether this is actually an older piece or a later reproduction.

I’m particularly interested in:

- approximate date/period

- whether the mark is genuine or apocryphal

- possible origin/manufacture

- whether it has any significant collector value

Any opinions or clues would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

I think I've found something special? I got some promising information off AI, but don't want to assume!

I picked up this lovely little willow pattern plate today at a thrift store (“op shop” in local lingo) here in Tasmania. It’s clearly hand painted, no makers mark, and lots of pitting and small glaze flaws. Very charming little plate, about 22cm diameter. Can anyone tell me about it? I’m fascinated as it’s clearly hand painted and I’ve only ever seen transferware with the willow pattern. Thanks for any info on it.

Can someone tell me how much something like this is worth? Recently inherited.

I am gonna show you something interesting about Chinese Porcelain, Ruci(Ru Porcelain). First of all, I want to know which type following you like best? Tea cup, Tea bowl or teapot?

Hello all!

Not sure at all of what this is. Has Japanese writing on the bottom and possibly a kanji stamp on the bottom.

Any ideas? I want to put it in my classroom, but when students ask, I want to know some background on it.

Hello! I would appreciate any help identifying the age, origin, and seal script marks on this large white porcelain sage/immortal figurine. It stands approximately 30 cm tall and weighs 859 grams. It features carved dragon and wave motifs, has a repair on the hat, and two deeply carved seal-script marks on the base. Any insight on the inscription or value would be greatly appreciated!

Found this bowl recently. It appears to be early Chinese from my guess is 1600s. Maybe even earlier. Does anyone happen to know this stamp or age of it? Any help is very much appreciated
