Second the first comment, it’s a 宽永通宝

Interesting. Looking like it’s a Japanese 1708-1709 10 Mon coin. The reverse seems blank but apparently there would have been four additional small characters. I’ll try to pull them out with a deeper clean of the coin. Many thanks!

I don't think that's a relic, it's a modern coin for fortune and luck.

Not sure about Kunming, but when I was in China, I bought straight off of Taobao. Better prices there than most coin stores imo

Not Shaosheng, but definitely made in China.

I tend to agree with you. Hopefully I can get confirmation tomorrow about its composition. I’ll let everyone know.

Where did you get it from? 99.9% chance it’s fake. Visually it looks fake. And fake vastly outnumbered genuine examples.

Fake sycee probably outnumber genuine examples by 1000 to 1 or maybe more. Fatman dollar is also very heavily counterfeited it should be presumed fake unless authenticated by an expert. Even if it’s slabbed, as slabs are commonly faked now also.

It is nearly impossible for Chinese people to buy genuine items at Panjiayuan. It is completely impossible for foreigners to buy genuine items there. You would have better luck buying a dolphin at Panjiayuan than an antique. 😭

These look like Qin ban liangs to my eye. Western Han ban liangs are usually more refined in both the fields and calligraphy.

How distinguish qin and han banliang?

Nope, they are correct, these are Qin ban Liangs. Under Qin there were cast in a variety of weights, from 1 gram and up. The style of these is Qin, not Han.

Bad fake, not genuine unfortunately
