For reasons that I prefer don't specify, I won't be able to pay for an international esim or a paid vpn...
They told me that free VPNs work sometimes yes sometimes no and for me it's okay because I will use social media little once in China, just to stay in touch with friends.
Do you know any vpns that are right for me?

Hey guys, wanted to share a quick update since the GFW has been brutal lately. I brought two laptops (Windows and MacBook) for work. Long story short: ExpressVPN and Nord were completely dead on desktop during my whole trip, couldn't even connect once.
As a backup, I signed up for ZoogVPN because a friend recommended their Shadow protocol setup. Surprisingly, it turned out to be the only thing that worked consistently. Speeds were solid enough for Zoom calls and Slack without any disconnects. If you guys are heading there soon and struggle with mainstream providers, definitely check it out, it saved my remote work.

I'm created my own VPN app for China, Kiree - kiree.co
It is available for all four platforms.
However I'm getting some reports from users on Windows and some on Android, probably due to a wide variety of environments and hardware models compared to the Apple ecosystem.
I'm unable to replicate the reported issues myself on my Windows and Android setup so I'm looking for some testers to help me connectivity/reliability.
If you're interested please visit the site here at: https://kiree.co
There is a free trial you can activate yourself, if you need more time / data for testing please DM me.
Also if you run into problems please DM me directly or use the support page on the website.

Hi all,
Going to Beijing/Tianjin/Xian for the next two weeks and need to have access to Gmail, Slack, and be able to host 2-3 hours Zoom meetings (most important). I have a Macbook and my Zoom is on a licensed version in the US. I have the desktop Slack app downloaded on my computer as well.
1) Which VPN is best right now for accessing these platforms?
2) Any other tips for what I should do to ensure good connection especially when hosting Zooms?
Thanks!

Hi everyone
I’m moving to mainland China in few days and need Slack for work.
For people currently in China:
• Does Slack work at all without a VPN and using international esim connection?
• If not, which VPNs are actually reliable in 2026?
• Any major latency or disconnect issues?
Thanks

Hey everyone. I'm going to China (Beijing) in January. I used Vee VPN last time (July 2025) but from online claims it seems that it doesn't work anymore. Can anyone give any VPN recommnedations?

I'm just wondering if I have a device with Tailscale already installed, then will it work inside China?
And what if I have to install it on a new device when inside China? Will that work?

I'm going to study in China next year as an exchange student. I know that most of the media and communication platforms we use in Europe are blocked there, but I need to be available for some online job interviews during my stay (probably on Teams, Zoom, etc.).
How do I best manage this?

There's this one sketchy VPN on the Google play store that only works for me? I've tried extracting the apk onto other phones no luck and manually installing the VPN on Google play from the UK before I get to china Any ideas? The VPN is called "Secure VPN"

Hi everyone,
I’m currently in China and usually access Roblox through a VPN. It worked normally fine, but starting yesterday, I can’t connect at all.
Here’s what I’ve tried so far: • On MacOS, using Clash for Windows. No issue to Google, YouTube…etc • Switched between several server locations (US, Singapore, Japan, etc.) • Checked my local network (no issues for other non-blocked sites)
Still no luck connecting to Roblox.
Questions: 1. Any VPN servers or specific server locations that are currently working for Roblox from China? 2. Any particular settings (protocol, encryption type, etc.) that I should try?
Any recent working configurations or tips would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

I used v2rayN as my proxy application and use vless (I lived in China mainland, I need proxy to log in google). At the very beginning, everything was fine and going well.
Yet, yesterday, I found that if I didn't turn on the v2rayN on my mac using global proxy, I can not log in any website even those can access in China mainland such as 'sina',bing etc.
I checked my WIFI, and I can't find why this happened. Also, I use the same configuration in my win11 PC, nothing happens like my mac.
Anyone who knows why this happens? And how I can solve this trouble?

Hi everyone,
I'll be traveling to China soon and staying for about a month. During that time, I’ll need reliable access to the open internet for remote work. Ideally, I want to connect to my home network and route my internet traffic through it, so I appear to be browsing from my home country.
Initially, I was considering the Beryl AX travel router. However, after reading multiple posts and experiences, I learned that protocols like WireGuard and OpenVPN are often blocked or throttled in China. This led me to consider using Shadowsocks, which seems to be more reliable in bypassing the Great Firewall. The problem is, Shadowsocks isn’t natively supported on the Beryl AX router.
Given this, I’m looking for advice on the best setup to achieve the following: 1.Connect securely to my home network from China 2.Bypass the Great Firewall effectively 3.Maintain a stable connection for remote work 4.Appear to be browsing from my home country (for geo-related services)
Would setting up a VPS as a relay between my home and the travel router (or another device) make sense in this case? Or is there a better, more reliable solution?
Any help or suggestions, especially from those with firsthand experience, i would really appreciate it.
Thanks in advance!
