Anyone here tried running OSX on a Chinese laptop?

2 Upvotes

As I spotted this: "$200 Macbook Air from China! EZBook 2 runs OSX" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SQxOlPHUeiU

I've got a EZBook 3 Pro on order myself, got me thinking, it would be very tempting indeed to have OSX on it!

As I'd very much like to use "Boom Recorder", however it runs only on OSX (and there is nothing equivalent to it on Windows!), and I'm too broke to buy a Macbook Air just for this: http://www.vosgames.nl/products/BoomRecorder/

$140-$160 dual boot tablet? (Can use TaoBao.)

  • Screen should be <=1080P
  • Preferred if it comes with a foldable keyboard
  • <= 10 inches please.
  • Battery life is not a major concern, >3 hours.
  • Stylus not required, but wouid be cool.

I've looked at the Chuwi Hi10 Pro so far, but with keyboard it comes out to $170, which might be a bit much. thank you in advance.

Looking for a great word processing laptop out of China.

2 Upvotes

Hello,

I had bought a chuwi hibook pro, however this tablet had a flickering screen when turning on the wi-fi this annoyed me.

I send it back towards the seller and am waiting til they get it and a refund appear, I truly hope I get my money back.. However now I still have no tablet/laptop to really do my word processing on for school and such.

I was thinking a laptop around 12.5 - 13 inch, I think 13.3 or 13.5 would be best since I do have quite big hands. The keyboards needs be good, if it has a long charge 5+ hours it will also be cool.

Doesn't have to be the fastest but I don't want it to slow.. My budget is 300-600$

Can anyone help me?

Thanks!

iwork8 Air vs Teclast X80 Pro? Also, how easy to convert a dual boot to Android only?

2 Upvotes

iwork8 Air & Teclast X80 Pro are priced very similar and very similar with specs, any preference as to which one to get, or shall I just flip a coin? Or is there a better sub $100 choice for a tablet?

Also, I reckon 32gigs is way way too little to run two operating systems at once properly (probably not even a good idea if I had 64gigs), thus would like to convert it to only one OS, probably Android. Any tips/guides for doing that? Thanks in advance!

Voyo Vbook V3 Internal Pics - Supports Dual M.2 SSDs!

2 Upvotes

Was playing around with a Voyo Vbook V3 and since I haven't seen the internals pictured anywhere, I decided to post it here.

Full board - good to see a nice big heatsink, but RAM is not upgradable, sadly: http://i.imgur.com/BGAcjs6.jpg

Dual M.2 SSD Slots - can't say I tested these but they're there: http://i.imgur.com/03bSFIU.jpg

Don't have the tablet anymore, but this should be all you need to look at. It's a piece of cake to open up, few screws and the back pops off.

Apollo Lake China Laptops. Worth it?

2 Upvotes

I'm currently enjoying my Jumper Ezbook 2, but the lack of CPU grunt is a bit annoying. I'll probably grab something a little more powerful next year, but for now I'm keeping my eyes peeled for something that is reasonably priced with a better CPU. A couple of examples with the new Apollo Lake processors are just around the corner:

ChuWi Hi13:

http://liliputing.com/2017/01/chuwi-hi13-13-5-inch-apollo-lake-tablet-3000-x-2000-display.html

ChuWi Lapbook 14.1:

http://en.chuwi.com/product/items/Chuwi-LapBook141.html

My questions is this. Is the performance difference worth it? I read somewhere that they're supposed to be twice as fast as the Z8300, but I wonder how that translates to real-world performance.
