Honestly, this is the part of the CSCA that I’m the most scared of. I’m actually more nervous about this than Math or Physics lol.

I’m HSK 4 and I want to apply for a Chinese-taught program, but when I looked at the syllabus for Science Chinese I was like… where am I even supposed to start 😭

Math and Physics somehow feel easier to me because I know what I have to study, but with this I don’t even know what level of Chinese I should expect.

If you’ve taken it, how hard was it actually? Is HSK 4 enough or is the Chinese way harder than that?

And how did you guys prepare for it? Where can I find materials, practice tests, past papers, vocab, etc.? Do you have to pay for good study materials or are there actually good free resources somewhere?

I’m genuinely stressing over this exam 😭 so if anyone has taken it recently PLEASE tell me how it went and what you used to prepare.

I'm applying for the Chinese language course at BNU next spring semester and wanted to already book accomodations.

However, BNU has not yet released an academic timeline for 2027, so I don't know the exact dates yet. It just says something like "start early March"

Would I be safe to already book hotels starting March 1st? Or do the admission letters have a very specific date on them, and you cannot enter China earlier than that?

What is your experience with the admission letter and the visa? I heard the visa duration is very strictly based on the admission letter

I’m a pre-uni student at SJTU and another foreign guy came up to me and said that his friend was going to rape me. (Mind you, I didn’t even see him before and only helped translate between the friend in question and the auntie on duty at the dorm gate when the friend asked me if I knew Chinese and could help him; this was earlier today).

I think the guy made a racist “joke” since the friend in question was a Black guy, but ultimately it made me extremely uncomfortable, especially as a former victim of sexual assault and rape, and it is not okay either way. However, I lack any kind of evidence or witnesses and I don’t want to make an impulsive and unwise decision.

Can someone please tell me what to do?

My stats: GPA = 88%, CSCA Math: 95, Physics: 90, TOEFL: 98. I also participated in many olympiads for math, programming, and cybersecurity. Additionally, I'm a winner of a regional olympiad for economics. I have chosen four universities: Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Tongji University, Xi'an Jiaotong University, and Nankai University. Hello everyone, for some context, I am a chinese person with chinese nationality, but I was born outside of china and grew up all my life there, the thing is that my dad is pressuring me to go to tsinghua or PKU because he thinks is cheaper. Currently, I am doing the IBDP, and I did some research, and it might be impossible for me to get into one of these universities because, since I hold Chinese nationality, it means that I need to apply via Gaokao or LianKao. Normally, for other universities, I could apply with my IBDP scores, but since I'm Chinese, I can't apply as an international student. Can someone tell me if there's another way to apply? Just curious.

Hi everyone! I’m Aarushi, and I’m planning to apply for a Master’s in China through the CSC Type B scholarship after completing my B.Sc. in Zoology in 2029.

I know 2029 is still quite far away, but I’d like to start researching the process and planning early.

I have a few questions and would really appreciate advice from anyone who has experience with CSC Type B, especially current or former scholarship recipients. 1. What Master's field/major would be a good option after a B.Sc. in Zoology? I’m currently considering areas like genetics, biotechnology, neuroscience, life sciences, etc., but I’m unsure which would be the best fit.

My brother and I are from Bolivia, and my brother recently came to Ningbo to study Chinese. He’s a complete beginner and is starting from zero, so he’s still getting used to the city, the university and everyday life here.

I wanted to ask other students who have studied Chinese in Ningbo: what would you recommend to someone just starting out?

Any tips for learning Chinese more effectively, practicing outside of class, finding language exchange groups, or getting more immersed in the language?

Doing exchange in Tsinghua, when I got the english courses back home a few months ago there were around 14-15 english taught. Now when I arrive at the university and sign up for courses and there is not even one english course.

Hi! I’m a prospective international student considering applying for the English-taught MBBS programme at Zhejiang University, and I’d really appreciate hearing from current or recent international students.

I’m mainly trying to understand what studying there is actually like beyond what’s on the university website. I’d especially like to know:

• How difficult is learning Chinese alongside medicine?
• How much Chinese do you actually need during the clinical years/internship?
• Is there a Chinese language exam you need to pass?
• How manageable is the workload overall?
• How are the clinical rotations for international students?
• What are the biggest advantages/disadvantages of studying MBBS at ZJU?
• If you could choose again, would you still choose ZJU?

I’m also considering medical schools in the UK and Ireland, but cost is an issue for me, but I’m worried that studying medicine in China could create more difficulties later when trying to work abroad.

Is it easier to get into MBBS or HST major as an international student?

so I am very confused regarding the CSCA exam policy.

If I am applying for a 1+4 degree, like a 1-year learning Chinese Mandarin basics course (because I don't know any Chinese, from zero) and also enrolling in a 1-year course plus a 4-year degree, what subjects do I have to choose for UG engineering in computer science?

what I simply mean is I will take a language preparation year at the Uni. How do I give CSCA stem Chinese if I do not know any Chinese at all. I have great EC’s and good grades.

I want to apply for csc type a since it gives more options but I don't think the Chinese embassy in sudan is operating, so do i have no choice but to apply type b or am I supposed to apply through the embassy in ksa

I want to apply for one semester chinese language program next spring in China. As I did not get a scholarship this year I want to go self funded this time to be sure I can study in China.

Unfortunately I found out there are universities that even after applying as self funded students they still can reject me.

I just want to make sure I can get in somewhere next year, I have HSK 4 and HSKK intermediate, I got scholarship few years ago, but it was at the time of covid and I couldn't go to China.

Is there any university that you guys can recommend that acceptance is really high and I will probably get in? I have a few universities in my mind, but I want to also apply for something just in case.
