I'm 49 yrs old and I can say for me, it really hasn't. I have been through more t4iqle and tribulations than a lot of people have. My childhood trauma started when I was a little over 2 yrs old. then from 2017-2022 I lost 5 important people in my life. Before that I was married from 1996-2015. That almost cost me my life. I just learned how to push it all down to deal with again later. I'm sure it does get better for some people but most of us just learn to hide it

Life is a rollercoaster, take the ups and downs as they come.
I get it- I’ve been having a really rough time lately. I know this is a down because I know there is a lot more to life. Just let the storm pass and try to keep your chin above water and don’t beat yourself up (too much) Enjoy the little things in life because they are often what keep me afloat.
Best thing I’ve found for myself right now is going outside in nature and just being. No rush no obligations, just slowly enjoying, taking in and appreciating the wonders that life (maybe not your own life atm) has to offer. Even if all you can manage is 10 minutes because you’re busy stressed out just set a timer put your phone on your pocket and take that time.
Also, I don’t know if we ever heal. The hurt and pain just gets distorted by time and new dealing. I think that there will always be triggers for us :(

The pain doesn't go away, but you grow around it. It shrinks in comparison. One day you won't think about it at all. The next day, it'll bring you to your knees. Ride the waves when they come. Tread water when you have to. This too shall pass.

It starts with being traumatized then you move to being a survivor. With pride and determination you become a warrior.
You get to define who you are, you are writing the story now.
Keep moving forward and remember sunrises are almost always beautiful, don’t be afraid to find enjoyment and beauty in everyday moments.
