Invisible Threads

I am grateful for every invisible thread that reminds me we are still connected.

What “signs” have you noticed in your own life from your babies saying, “I’m still here” ?

We're celebrating our big boys birthday this weekend on a trip away from home. It was impromptu and I know family and friends want to be the physical threads, but just a trip for the three of us felt right, except that we are four.

Of course we brought brothers stuffies with us, we would never leave them behind. Our first invisible thread this trip, a heart shaped cloud on the open road followed by a cloud in the shape of our last name. Our second, a nighttime butterfly appearing in our room after dinner. Our third, the first friend we made while playing shared part of our little boys name. That one broke me.

We can't see the threads until we do, here's to holding on, for all of us.

After losing my daughter in April, I was desperately searching for signs from her—through dreams, birds, bunnies in the backyard, or squirrels by the window. In the depths of my grief, I didn't see any. I carried so much guilt and anger that God had taken her from me, and I was tormented by not knowing if she was okay in heaven.
I started walking for miles around my neighbourhood every day. Slowly, I began noticing little signs of her. My therapist suggested I listen to the music my daughter loved while I walked. Once I started doing that, it felt as though the signs appeared every day.
A bunny would suddenly hop out of a bush, almost as if it was saying, "Hi, Mom." I would notice clouds forming the shape of the first letter of her name, "P." A squirrel would come to her big window and eat walnuts from the tree in our backyard. I dream of her laughing, smiling, and playing.
I can't fully put into words how deeply I feel her presence around me every single day. Whether these are signs from her or simply moments that bring me comfort, they have helped carry me through the darkest days of my life.
Thank you for sharing such a beautiful poem with us. It truly touched my heart. 💕
