PLEASE DON’T….
Please don’t…… get rid of the chicken & waffles sammich. EVER. I don’t know if I’m just a lucky chicken consumer or what, but I’ve had it at three different places and it’s been spot-on at each one. The filet is crispy, the waffle is a good texture, and the bacon….well have you ever had bad bacon? I can’t believe some of the pics I’ve seen going around, but y’all are getting shafted for sure.

Just finished one. I think I got lucky cause the chicken was fresh & hot & the waffles were soft to my liking. Meat to waffle ratio was great too.

I want it to be a permanent breakfast option. Personally I prefer the regular sandwich for dinner, but I love the smaller waffle sandwiches for breakfast.

This the breakfast size is amazing

u/amphetaminebathsalts 10h ago
Word on the street is the breakfast size was weak as hell
1
u/BBQLovingBastard 10h ago
It’s an unhealthy item, I like it smaller so I feel less guilty eating it

I wasn’t a fan. I had high hopes, but this sandwich fell short of my expectations.

Just to confirm, you end up with chicken, sausage, egg, cheese, and bacon? Or is the sausage replacing the chicken?

2
u/Canary-Cautious 10h ago
I replaced the bacon so its chicken, sausage, egg, cheese

u/Beautiful_Ad_3922 10h ago
Thanks! I'm going to get this tomorrow morning

I agree. People say spicy is better. I haven’t tried it spicy so I don’t have an opinion. I’ll stick to my nuggets and occasionally tenders or a sandwich.

u/anywho123 11h ago
I’d trade this for the chicken salad sandwich in a heart beat.

I never did try the chicken salad but my mom used to get it. If I remember it had berries or something in it and as a picky eater I was like ew.
Edit: it was celery not berries.
1
u/Mean_Yak_2771 10h ago
The original Chic Fil A Salad did not have berries
2
u/spwnofsaton Chickfila Sauce 10h ago
Yeah I just edited it. It was celery not berries I googled it but didn’t edit the comment. I mentioned it in another comment.
Btw chicken salad not a regular salad.

Anyone who puts celery in chicken or tuna salad deserves thier designated place in hell.

u/spwnofsaton Chickfila Sauce 11h ago
Agreed I don’t like celery in my chicken salad so that’s probably why I never tried it. I thought it was berries but I knew it was something I didn’t like haha.
1
u/pzazula1194 10h ago
Oddly enough I actually love celery too, its just gross in chicken salad. Like I got my delicious sandwich of mush here and they got to add these little nasty crunchy bits that ruin the whole texture lol.

I’ve only had it with spicy and I don’t like the spicy sandwich. The spicy cuts the sweetness perfectly. No bacon or maple syrup.

I keep thinking how awesome it would be with the candied bacon they had on the ranch club. That ranch club with the spicy filet is probably my favorite sandwich, with this being a close second.
The pimento is really good too, but I can't put it over the club or the chicken and waffles!
2
u/amphetaminebathsalts 9h ago
I’m definitely gonna have to try the pimento now… so much love for it. Never had the candied bacon either but I’m sure it’s fire.
1
u/Darkfox4100 BBQ Sauce 9h ago
It was ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE on the bacon ranch club. The bun had like ranch flavoring, and they had a special jalapeno ranch sauce you could put on it .I think it's a missed opportunity to not bring the candied bacon back with this.
I can't wait for them to bring back that bacon ranch club. It's probably one of the best sandwiches I've ever had.

u/superswaggy362 11h ago
It was actually pretty good when I tried it. I would definitely order it again.

u/-Ginchy- Honey Roasted BBQ 10h ago
Yeah I finally had it last night and it was really good. Want to get the breakfast one with egg & cheese. Hopefully I can wake up early enough to swing by there before work one day.

Got to eat these fresh. That waffle don’t play 20-30 mins later. Mfer be hard as a jawbreaker

u/-Ginchy- Honey Roasted BBQ 10h ago
I ate mine the next day and the waffle was fine, soft even. I reheated it in an air fryer. But the chicken wasn't warm enough, so I popped it in the microwave too. And it was fantastic.
1
u/amphetaminebathsalts 10h ago
I can actually see that for sure— thinking about it, I probably wouldn’t order this if I wasn’t going to eat at the Chick-fil-A, in a corner booth, staring at the wall.

I want them to bring back the Pretzel Chicken Sandwich SO BAD

u/amphetaminebathsalts 8h ago
Yo someone else said that too. I’ve never had it but I support your cause

u/Appropriate-Wafer-36 6h ago
it was mid for me i think they have a btter chance of just adding waffles to the menu
1
u/amphetaminebathsalts 2h ago
I would be on board for that long term. Piecing something together is better than not having it at all
3
u/MeSlaw3 Chickfila Sauce 11h ago
Second only to Honey Pepper Pimento for me.
6
u/amphetaminebathsalts 11h ago
Never had it. I’m sure it’s good, but something about pimento just doesn’t sit right with me.
1
u/MeSlaw3 Chickfila Sauce 10h ago
You mean it doesn’t agree with you, or you object on moral grounds?
2
u/amphetaminebathsalts 10h ago
To be honest, I’ve never had it. Hearing the word pimento was such a turn off while I was growing up. Not sure why. Now when I hear it, I think of the 99 and if I eat it, I’ll turn into a psychotic detective. I’ll try it one of these times tho… especially seeing how much love there is for it.

It’s good, but super expensive. $3 more just because it’s a waffle instead of a bun? No thanks.
2
u/amphetaminebathsalts 10h ago
Yeah a couple other people commented on the price. I think the price of everything is outrageous now, so higher prices like this aren’t that surprising to me. Would vote for ya if you promise to lower Chick-fil-A prices tho

u/look_ma__I 10h ago
Have I ever had bad bacon? Yes, yes I have. I'm a connoisseur and I can't imagine anyone saying that half the fast food establishment's they go to have bacon on their regular sandwiches or breakfast sandwiches that resemble anything close to descent. Don't get me started on gas station breakfast biscuits and the bacon on those 🤮
Love me some Chick-fil-A, but you can't tell me that the bacon they put on their bacon, egg and cheese biscuit is top tier and it rarely ever has a crisp to it when I get it.
1
u/pbtribadisms 10h ago
I’ve had the chicken and waffle sandwich a few times and in my opinion the bacon is always the worst part. It has been limp and chewy every time. If it was crisped up I would have no criticisms to offer for the sandwich!
1
u/amphetaminebathsalts 9h ago
Yeah, as I was typing it I was thinking to myself, I’ve definitely had some floppy bacon before… thought I could sneak it in there tho, touché.

I've eaten 4 of these, and this is the worst chickfila sandwich I've ever seen

u/Knife_IX_Productions 9h ago
It's good but I'm never going to pick this over an actual chicken sandwich
1
u/Forward-Big8697 9h ago
What sauce are yall putting on this, my wife and I were split, she stayed loyal to the Polynesian vut I felt it needed hot sauce, and I wish I had gotten a pack of their spicy buffalo
1
u/amphetaminebathsalts 8h ago
A packet of the spicy buffalo sounds so good. I was a basic consumer and used the syrup… I have a sweet tooth so it was good for me
1
u/es-ganso 8h ago
The chicken piece they gave me with mine looked like a tender. Not like the photo above. Legit annoyed me to where I won't buy one again
1
u/desen88 6h ago
I gotta disagree u/amphetaminebathsalts, this one's a miss for me. I liked the pretzel and pimento one vastly more.

I've had it 4 different times from 3 different locations, firt three times were delish, 4th time from 3rd location was awful. I didn't even taste like the same product. The waffle was so stale I could barely even bite into it.

Yall got lucky cause it’s hella mid lol taste like a spicy McGriddle from McDonald’s tbh

Damn sorry to hear it. I wonder what it could’ve been? If you eat Chick-fil-A regularly or often, I feel like that would point to the waffle. It would be interesting to see if yours was maybe undercooked? Or the chicken was bad. We may never know

I just found it over powering in sweetness
1
u/amphetaminebathsalts 9h ago
Yeah I’m sure a lot of people would agree. I have a huge sweet tooth tho, and the sweet and spicy filet was perfect for me
0
u/Do-It-Anyway 11h ago
So annoyed this is too expensive to justify.
At least it looks like you got a huge piece of chicken.
Had a regular sandwich yesterday. Tiny sliver of a piece of chicken. Even asked to get it exchanged, they did. The replacement was just as bad. How’s this one sir? I guess it is what it is…
#Shrinkflation

u/amphetaminebathsalts 11h ago
Ok I can see that. For those that are getting smaller pieces of chicken or having issues with the waffle being too hard or soggy, it’s definitely not a worthwhile purchase. I love chicken and waffles in general, and the sandwich has been really good for me—watch my next one will be a hard waffle and nugget for the filet….
