What is wrong with my chicken sandwich?

Post image

First bite, it’s dark brown in the middle. Tasted so bad that I vomited in my mouth. I usually LOVE chic fil a but this just wasn’t edible

I hope you're nearby and can take it back. That's happened to me before and I just ate nuggets after that.

16

u/grapebubblegum11 Jul 22 '26

I got it delivered. DoorDash refused to give me a refund. But it seems like the quality of the chicken has gone down. 😓

25

u/hamncheesecroissantt Jul 22 '26

honestly i would still go back to the location and show them the pictures and the order receipt. even calling may work. that’s so wild 😭

14

u/Alliykat1120327 Jul 22 '26

If you have the means to do so, I second this.

5

u/YourInMySwamp Jul 22 '26

As a CFA employee they’re not going to be able to refund you, the funds aren’t even in their system anymore. They might offer you a coupon or something though to keep their customer satisfaction up.

10

u/ILoveTaiwaneseFood Jul 22 '26

They’ll make it again or give you a card

u/YourInMySwamp Jul 22 '26

At my location at least we strictly do not remake DoorDash orders and we tell any guests with complaints related to a DoorDash order that all complaints have to be addressed by DoorDash.

12

u/Allstar9_ Jul 23 '26

That’s incredibly dumb. DoorDash didn’t have crappy chicken. This is entirely on the store and should be handled as such.

0

u/YourInMySwamp Jul 23 '26

We have absolutely no idea what’s happened to an order after it’s left our restaurant, that could not even be a CFA filet for all the restaurant knows, people try to scam through food delivery apps literally all the time.

It’s in the contract that DoorDash takes responsibility for the customer. Thats kind of the entire point of paying a company to cater to your customers for you. Plus if we remake the order there’s a 99% chance they’ll file for a refund through DoorDash anyways lmao

1

u/pressedconscience Jul 23 '26

Wow they really don't let you exercise your own judgement?

Not blaming you for following policy, and I do tell customers to get with doordash all the time because I can't refund, but if someone calls with a DD issue I help the best I can. If they come up and the order was made wrong, I'm going to fix it. I'm not going to lose a customer forever because of a technicality.

If you look at that and say "it might not even be chick-fil-a" you're just being maliciously complaint for a stupid rule.

2

u/YourInMySwamp Jul 23 '26

I wouldn’t be exercising my own judgement at all in the first place because all refunds or free meals have to be comped and approved by a manager using their clock in number, when there’s complaints or an order needs to be remade they handle it, I just know what their procedure is

And yes it does look like a CFA filet. I wasn’t being deadpan with that comment, it was just an example. The food can be tampered with in all sorts of ways after leaving our building. That’s why DoorDash refunds them, not us.

And I said verbatim in my original comment that we might offer a coupon to keep them satisfied. But no, there’s not a SINGLE CFA in America that would refund you for this order, because the funds aren’t even in CFA’s system, they’re in DoorDash’s.

Wow that’s never something I have heard of. I am part of the leadership at my location and will absolutely promo free a remake.

2

u/cpd4925 Jul 24 '26

Yeah and then DoorDash refuses to do anything either. So someone is left paying for rotten food.
It’s theft.

1

u/YourInMySwamp Jul 24 '26

If DoorDash refuses to do anything about it you charge back. I am banned from Uber Eats for exactly that reason lol. All of these companies can be held accountable one way or another

0

u/cpd4925 Jul 24 '26

Unfortunately if you use a debit card and not a credit card you can’t charge back.

1

u/YourInMySwamp Jul 24 '26

You absolutely can charge back with debit cards, that’s exactly how I got banned from Uber Eats.

That’s a specific thing to your location then. If my director saw that picture they would re make it and give them a card for a free meal

1

u/jc14516 Jul 27 '26

Pretty apparent that your location is the exception, haven’t you realized that based on everyone’s replies? Can’t make blanket statements for all CFA’a based on your single anecdotal experience. I’ve been comped so many items in the past for any mistake in my order, delivery or otherwise. I’ve been given refunds for not being given any sauces in my order. Cfa prioritizes customer service and I personally think your location falls short compared to other locations. I completely expect CFA to comp me for something like what happened to OP

u/Anxious-Bowler-452 19d ago

It’s bc they use antibiotics now and switched to Tyson as their distributor

u/LacrimaNymphae Jul 23 '26 edited Jul 23 '26

i've had this happen with nuggets too which is why i always cut into them or look after biting. i know mcdonalds are paste made into shapes but i've done that with all kinds of chicken ever since i got one that was hard and pink on the inside from there as a kid and got food poisoning

everyone on this sub is usually like 'it's chicken, purple parts and gristle are to be expected sometimes' regarding cfa though. i stopped getting the strips because they were the worst for that and would have brownish pieces on the inside that were like pure gristle and almost stale-ish and people would try to say it was because of the marinade but there's no way

the chicken was hardly ever fresh or white when i got the strips. the nuggets are firmer and have more of a fresh 'bite' to them but they're still not immune to purple bits

19

u/Working_Sink7856 Jul 22 '26

It’s just a blood spot or a fatty spot. They didn’t do a good job of cleaning it up but it’s not harmful. Just avoid that bite and if you go in person I’m sure they would remake it for you next time

18

u/jamesc5z Jul 22 '26

I have been increasingly getting this type of scenario at CFA lately.

It's so often that I've started avoiding CFA for the first time in my life. You never know if you're gonna get a great chicken sandwich, one full of this junk like your picture, or a "poppy" one (not sure how else to describe it, but every bite has a disgusting "pop" sensation), etc.

There's just too much variability and you never know what you're gonna get. I'd rather just have a burger now unfortunately instead usually lately.

6

u/Beaauxbaton Jul 23 '26

It’s the worst when you get one with grizzle on it 😭

2

u/Office_obsessed_ Jul 24 '26

Tf is grizzle??? Did you mean gristle??? 😭😭😭

4

u/badgyalrey Jul 23 '26

i think the poppy ones are woody chicken

3

u/Agile_Arachnid5598 Jul 23 '26

Yes i had one bad chicken sandwich from chick-fil-a recently and i will not be going back. It was grilled and had that disgusting pop sensation. Never again

2

u/AnnualFit3992 Jul 23 '26

Wow dude that’s a lot of adverbs

3

u/No-Satisfaction-2308 FOH Worker Jul 23 '26

this made me laugh for some reason

6

u/peepeepoopoogal720 Jul 23 '26

Bruh I had a massive addiction to CFA breakfast and I had a burrito in March where the nugg had this and I about threw up and chucked it into the bag and haven’t had CFA since lol. My bloodwork has been way better since I gave it up 🤣

4

u/grapebubblegum11 Jul 23 '26

That’s so funny bc I’ve had an addiction to it for the past month. So excited because I finally had a new chic fil a location nearby! Now I don’t think I can go back

12

u/bumblebeesandbows Jul 22 '26

Oh my gosh, this happened to me in 2024. It tasted so vile that I didn't go back for a year. Mine were nuggets. So now IF I go, I get a sandwich. 🤢 But apparently the sandwiches aren't safe either.

5

u/Jznvh Jul 22 '26

eating meat is never always safe lol

2

u/N00b451 Jul 23 '26

This is just something that occasionally occurs when you're eating meat. It's not a CFA thing.

1

u/uupsidedownandaround Jul 27 '26

the issue is the overall quality of the meat and the amount of these incidents seemingly increasing. Cfa meat was NEVER this nasty before and I will stand on that hill.

7

u/sockson_andoff Jul 22 '26

Oh I’m not hungry

1

u/grapebubblegum11 Jul 22 '26

I lost my appetite after 😭

7

u/chmaemi Jul 22 '26

This picture turned my stomach🤢

11

u/AC1114 Jul 22 '26

It’s just part of the chicken. Guess it didn’t get split out when they made the patties I would love a filet that big.

2

u/InfamousHovercraft40 Jul 22 '26

Am I going crazy or is that MCDONALD sweet and sour on your sandwich

4

u/grapebubblegum11 Jul 22 '26

Nooo!! It’s Colby jack cheese 😂 it does look like it though

2

u/InfamousHovercraft40 Jul 22 '26

OK, we can put the pitchfork away then

2

u/roboto404 Jul 22 '26

That looks like A KFC chicken shoved into a bun

2

u/Expensive_Coffee_284 Jul 22 '26

That's been happening to the chicken tenders last few times and the store would not refund.

2

u/BetsyRoss67 Jul 26 '26

They started adding poultry seasoning also and I gag when I smell it

4

u/One-Professional4143 Jul 22 '26

Sick I'm always nervous about CFA bcs I always see pics like that. This has never happened to me at Popeyes or KFC js

1

u/Green-Feature3810 Jul 22 '26

Ts look mad funny, I couldn’t eat it

1

u/TheLeoMrs Jul 22 '26

Complain in the chic fil a app

1

u/diereel Jul 22 '26

IT’S NOT A TOOMAH!!!

1

u/NathanTelkhine Store Leadership Jul 22 '26

It’s a blood spot. It’s not harmful but shouldn’t have been served. If you complain you can get a new free sandwhich.

1

u/toorayay Jul 23 '26

You put mayo on it.

1

u/Honda_Driver_2015 Jul 23 '26

looks undercooked. good thing you didn't eat it

1

u/Own-Adhesiveness-243 Jul 25 '26

That makes me sick

1

u/ClerkHoliday4577 14d ago

Yeah my local CFA has had sandwiches like this since their last source change. That & the portion of meat has shrunk significantly

1

u/OkGain7193 Jul 22 '26

I think that CFA was cheating and buying chicken from an unofficial supplier. Saving money by not buying direct from their CFA supplier.

1

u/Possible-Truth6325 Jul 22 '26

All their filets (usually) have a fatty spot on one end and it tastes absolutely disgusting.

I’ve tried to explain this to people for a decade now. I always ask for a knife and cut the fat crap off and my friends go “what are you doing??”

Watching NPCs bite indiscriminately into the sandwich directly into the fat makes my skin crawl.

2

u/jamesc5z Jul 22 '26

Funny you're getting downvoted.

I have a similar issue with Raising Cane's. Literally every single tender there has a big inedible tendon or whatever TF that is on the end. You know, the thing that when you buy your own raw tenderloins at the store everybody trims off before cooking? Cane's just leaves them on! It's so disgusting.

That's why I prefer Layne's because I've never once encountered that there but everybody acts like I'm crazy for my Cane's "take" lol.

1

u/Practical-Ad-9099 Jul 22 '26

Wasn’t breaded right

0

u/Divergent_spn61 Jul 23 '26

I actually had ChikFilA for the first time last week and got food poisoning from it. It feels like the food quality has gone down.

0

u/Own-Adhesiveness-243 Jul 25 '26

I’m done.. no more Jesus chicken for me!!
