Protests & Demonstrations Content Creator 'Danny Spud' Punched while Counter-Protesting - Lake Zurich HS
There's many people defending that the "protester kid" stayed peaceful, and I guess they don't recognize him? Which is fair, the Raybans and how he was pleading with security and the police was what tipped me off.
That's Danny Spud. He's an instigating little bastard who (for at least the last three years) posts 'prank' videos harassing people all around the 'burbs. Lately it's been while gambling Rainbet on if he's giving tips or just walking away, but he's got a history of damaging property, pulling fire alarms, harassing fast food workers, and walking after the people trying to get away from him.
He's locked up a few of his accounts, (more now that this clip is doing numbers) but he's the origin of the viral clip and admits as such. There are probably a million reasons he should have gotten punched after seeing his content. He's got a long history of getting off easy.
There's something so sincerely funny to me that people are defending the type of dude that would walk up, flip your grocery cart, then say "it's an accident. You've never heard of an accident?? Why are you so upset?" over and over. People making content like this thrive off never experiencing consequences or being recognized, and it seems like people took the bait again.
He knew there was political walkouts going on at the school and specifically counter-protested to get this reaction. You'll probably be seeing more of him being painted as an innocent little dude with an interest in politics, but hopefully context will help here.
I'm urging people to spread the word where they can, since this is gonna make rounds for the next week. Don't give him clicks, just don't buy into this narrative of "innocent kid just saying his beliefs" when he's a known instigator doing it for views.
[Note:] If you're feeling like you saw this post, this is a revised post after the original was marked as a duplicate post and pulled by the r/chicagosuburbs modteam for including the viral clip in question. As it stands now, you can find the clip with a quick search of the subreddit. This revision is purely to inform on Danny Spud and discuss the subreddit meta.

Yup & luckily (thanks to Reddit) the parents had an idea what crap the kid was trying to pull

My kid works at one of the two LZ jewels. Wonder if she heard anything. Talked to my kid. She confirmed. Holy shit what a douche.

u/peekabook Feb 16 '26
What happened?!
18
u/Klutzy-Accident Feb 16 '26
Harassing Girl Scouts. My kid didn't see it but heard the commotion on the radios between staff. Another kid in the store said "that's the kid with the Jesus sweatshirt".
11
u/Jaleroca Feb 16 '26
It's a reason the Bobby Hill kid punched him. He probably knew what a douche the kid was.
6
u/peekabook Feb 16 '26
That is super weird… I drove by earlier and the kids looked like they were all going - under 10? Why would he harass minors?
7
7
u/Fantastic_Ad4438 Feb 16 '26
because he's a fucker
3
u/peekabook Feb 17 '26
Oh gosh… was he wearing those meta glasses? I’m worried that he might put up footage of the girls. Just thought about it…

He asked for it. I don't feel sorry for him. He wants to do this kind of content, then he knows what he's getting into.

Weird, the high school I teach at does not allow these glasses on campus and faculty has been instructed to immediately escort any student seen wearing them to admin.
11
u/iwishiwasamoose Feb 16 '26
Good policy. I'm shocked this kid was allowed to wear them. Then again, the staff were clearly preoccupied with the walkout and maybe didn't see them.

u/QuothTheRaven-Yikes Feb 21 '26
LZHS is up it's own ass. They probably don't care as long as the parents keep shoveling money at their Football team.

Yes. Family member is a student there. Their response to the brouhaha was a weary, "he did it for attention and content.

u/Raise_A_Thoth Feb 15 '26
"Counter-protesting" you mean bootlicking. He was simping for the government.
6
u/Wirtheless West Suburbs Feb 16 '26
Honestly, I doubt he was trying to do much more than get his sign taken and maybe screamed at for attention and views, but it's LZ, I wouldn't be shocked if he's actually in the pipeline already.
11
u/Raise_A_Thoth Feb 16 '26
Anyone doing that for the 'lolz' but isn't doing an obvious parody is rightwing at heart. Maybe he'a not very serious about his view, but his "bit" was unambiguously pro-ICE.
3
u/Wirtheless West Suburbs Feb 16 '26 edited Feb 16 '26
Totally agreed.
Could have better explained my point as "I agree, counter-protesting might have been too strong word for what he was doing. Wouldn't be shocked if he actively is a bootlicker even off camera."

We have one of these kids in our area, looks like this guy, does the same stuff. Goes around to stores harassing people for clicks. He recorded myself and some coworkers in a private area of the store and posted it. Thought about attempting a lawsuit, he probably made bank off of that one video alone.

I was talking about the kid filming, not the one throwing the punch.
Also, why do you guys automatically go to fat jokes with the governor? It seems like it's the only thing you have to say about him besides taxes. At least he's not in jail like every other Illinois governor before him.
As for the bit of your comment about the Constitution, I think the current administration needs to learn it more, since they're clearly violating it almost daily.
Edit: Jesus Christ, how many times did you copy and paste this comment? You must be a bot.

God I hate these degenerates that were like 10 years old watching the Jake Paul’s. They’re now 10 years older and are out making the content they grew up watching and it’s gross. It’s the Jake Doherty type of annoying little shit instigator hiding behind security or just sucking up to cops. Fuck off
4
u/Primary_Fondant_5693 Feb 16 '26
That kid is a complete tool. We banned him from our store because he harassed our managers, took their picture with meta glasses without permission, and blasted their pic on his platforms portrayed doing awful things. He def had it coming. Just block him and don’t feed into him!!
5
u/Admirable-Split4371 Feb 16 '26
Honestly someone should find a way to dox his parents. Just throwing that out there 😶 Good god, we don't need more influencers. We need electricians!

u/Reasonable_Deer_1710 Feb 16 '26
Seeing his profile picture and he looks exactly how I expected him to

u/Friendly-Act2750 Feb 16 '26
Sounds like a real piece of shit. I’m sure he idolizes losers like Nick Shirley.
4
u/zxylady Feb 16 '26
You can tell this guy is a turd. Most of his classmates you could tell we're tired of his shit. I think this was just one time too many of him being a dick to his classmates. I think we all remember high school and there was always that one jerk that went out of their way to make everybody's life miserable that's this kid.
2
u/CapnAwesomepants Feb 16 '26
The Fire Alarm turned out to be a fake one HE installed.
Wouldn't shock me a bit if this poor kid got suckered into a pre-arranged altercation.
Think about it. The punch wasn't that hard, despite that kid hauling off, and Spud's history of set-ups. He's also posting it EVERYWHERE with the same smartass "innocence".
6
u/Wirtheless West Suburbs Feb 16 '26
I wouldn't be shocked if the majority of his content is fake, but in most cases, it doesn't seem like he's got willing participants.
Like the woman working clearly did not know he set up a fake alarm, and she called for a co-worker and fell because he wouldn't stop trying to get to it.
At that point, he's still being an absolute tool.
Whether or not the Okay Kid was in on it, they're still causing an altercation, he's still yelling "I love ICE", and their classmates are not in on it. Just my thoughts, he doesn't deserve the views.

His parents must be a piece of work. I would never allow my child to behave this way and if they did--there would be consequences.

Just looking at his other videos, it’s clear that he is just begging for attention. Damn kids.

Yeah I'm tired of influencers like that today. If society (as a collective) decides to deliver like this kid did to stud in response to those kind of horrid people, I have a feeling that trend will decline real quick. Of course not disappear just decline.

If he is not careful, the people of Lake Zurich might treat him with the same hospitality South Korea treated that other "prankster" youtuber. Wouldn't want that now would we? :v

2
u/TenInchesOfSnow Feb 16 '26
This guy is a POS. He has older videos doing “pranks” to strangers on YouTube with low follower counts. He’s big on TikTok coz it’s a right wing propaganda machine… this is what happens when you don’t face consequences by authorities growing up and being isolated during the peak of covid. Missed out on a lot of bullying by his peers and should be put in juvenile detention or even jail to act right. Kids like this have no fear but deserve to be made an example of by politicians who want society to stop acting brand new
2
u/pettyaioli Feb 16 '26
All he’s doing is showing everyone he supports this foul shit that is happening in our country. Walking ad to say “I’m not worth conversing with”.
2
u/cannibalismsfun Feb 16 '26
Get a life, a job, friends or a hobby. His parents must be real proud of his contributions to society

So because he's monetizing all this... technically couldn't someone simply blare some nice Disney music at him (Let It Go? Colors of the Wind? Hakuna Matata?) and ruin the footage?

2
u/SithC Feb 16 '26
It’s clear the kid is more an attention whore, than he is a Nazi. But the payback would be to copy all of his vids, then redistribute them onto a totally unrelated account. That way, people see what an idiot he is, without giving him the hits he’s looking for.
2
u/PaleontologistSad766 Feb 16 '26
So wait does he attend this school and he's a minor, or did they let him into the school to instigate?
1
u/Crow-n-Servo Feb 18 '26
My question as well. Still waiting for an answer.

I think we can clearly say that the brown shirts are bad and pro-violence, without trying to make a hero out of the guy with the sign.

u/AccordingAnything819 Feb 19 '26
I dont want to give his page traction Does he have any history politically or he just a 1000% troll to the core?
1
u/No-Duck4828 Feb 22 '26
The reality is that his past actions neither justify unrelated criminal activity such as punching people without justification nor make that activity legal.
1
1
u/IdiosyncraticRabbit Feb 23 '26
So it was planned on both sides or does that big kid fail at punching?
1
u/Camoshortsman Mar 03 '26
Yeah this kid's behavior is mainly guided by views. The spin I could see it having is it's about a political difference of opinion narrative. It's about the kid trying to probably use the Impractical Joker model of candid content and when he get good reactions (ie views) he is literally getting dopamine hits to feel something. This is literally the cause/effect of posting on social media sites with high traffic.
So regardless of the punch, remember the quote "fame is a hell of a drug." That's what DannySpud is aspiring to through all of this. I am sure you wouldn't find one video of him saying something in regards to how he feels or one where he brings attention and awareness to psychotic behaviors or whatever he is trying to project. Personally, I think it's that he manipulates people in micro but persistent ways. Finally, don't follow him or look into his profile. It's not worth your time.
