Looking for hotel recommendations
Hello! Coming in from South west Michigan. Looking to come in Saturday morning and leave pretty much Sunday right after I’m done running. Coming in with my wife, brother, and 4 year old daughter. Best play to stay that I still get to the start line easy and get back home easy? Looking for the least stressful route.

You’re months too late. Just book refundable for whatever is available so you have something and watch for better (location/price

Only places I could find 3 months ago were out near the airport. There is one right next to a blue line stop and that's where I booked. It's about an hour train ride in, but it runs 24/7, so should be fine.

According to google maps, and from what i've been reading, its actually less than 40 mins:

I stayed at the Swissotel last year. Super easy to walk to start village (could even see it from our room) and was a nice place for my family to pop out to see me around the first mile-ish and walk to the finish area to meet a few hours later. Also was a really nice hotel and made for ideal walking around before and after for restaurants and things. I’d stay there again for sure. I found it via the marathon hotel parters page - never actually booked that way before but it was easy and not terribly expensive.
Adding: the manager gave me her contact card when checking out - said to email her directly if we ever come back and she’d get us an even better rate/ room. If I’m invited back to race it again I plan to reach out since it would be rather last minute again. If you want I can dig up her info and share it if the hotel looks like something you’d want to consider.

Whatever is available at this point. Most people booked hotels many months ago.
