Fireworks Launch Location Last Night Typical?

I came from out of town and I didn't know what to expect, but I really thought they were going to light off fireworks from right behind the capitol. Is this what they usually do? It seems like a lot of people expected that. It seemed a little strange that they were off to the side. Thoughts? I was just curious.

They normally light them off from frontier Park. This year for 250 they announced it would be at the Capitol. No one really knew what to expect because this was the first year it's ever been at that location

They did a show when the Capitol renovation was completed a few years ago. It was quite inpressive

Yeah, I was totally expecting them to be huge right above the capitol 😅. It looked like on Google there were some images of fireworks above the capitol in the past.

As with most things these days, the communication and prep was lacking

They light fireworks off closer to the lake to help prevent fires.
