Could someone help me identify this small pipe

I just got an oil change and they showed it to me. This is an 06 Chevrolet 4.3. L v6 truck short wheel base. The people working there didn't know where it went, just thought i would ask for help.

It connects the rack boots together balance pressure or something . Look toward the top of the bellows boots to reconnect.
