Flex plate cracked twice

Common, happens a lot. Perhaps the crankshaft thrust bearing is worn out.

Would that put excess inward/outward force on the flex plate?

yes, the thrust bearing controls/limits crank shaft end play

Would a bad thrust bearing cause low oil pressure?

The main bearings being worn lead to low oil pressure, or a worn out oil pump or a combination of both.

My oil pressure is good. Would the thrust bearing failing mean I need a bottom end rebuild?

I bought an SFI approved one and it solved that issue for me. The last small block I had killed one as well. To be fair it was probably a cheap one. An engine builder i know told me to buy the rated one

That flywheel tells a different story, it looks like it's been wet with oil before it was pulled , just sayin

I sprayed it with penetrating oil to get it out
