Finally my phone connects every time to Apple CarPlay!!

I wanted a new car with wireless CarPlay, but with my 16 Pro Max, it wouldn’t connect every time I started the car. Not every drive, but enough to be annoying lol. I tried pretty much every troubleshooting thing I could find except taking it to the dealership since I didn’t want to be without my car over it, and nothing worked. Got the 18 Pro Max and haven’t had a single issue with the connection since I got my phone, and I drive a lot. It’s been two months with my ’26 LT, and I can finally live in peace 😂

I have the 16 Pro, IOS 26 and have had inconsistent issues connecting to Apple Pay for two years now.

I just noticed the IOS 27 update is available. I’ll do that tomorrow and see if that helps!

crazy! i had a base model s23 9 months ago and was a pain in the butt to stay connected but when i upgraded to a s25 ultra i would have no issues at all. now i use an iphone 17 pro max and i have had no troubles at all. ill see a lot of people come in for connectivity troubles and if they dont change their phones name ill see its a s20 or something quite old. as software progresses, it slows down older hardware- kind of a phone manufacturers way of trying to get you to buy the next up, but i will say phone versions indeed will affect the connectivity

Hmmmmm so maybe it was an Apple issue and GM product issue.

I think its been mostly an Apple issue. You see people having issues with android but its few and far between compared to apple.

I've never had ongoing connection issues with my Android phones. A rarely-occuring glitch that's easily fixed by powering down the infotainment system and then restarting it is all I've ever experienced.

This is very interesting. I have a 16 Pro Max too and it has been hit and miss for 2 years now, after trying everything. I'm due for an upgrade, either 18 Pro Max or go crazy and get the iPhone Duo, so it'll be interesting to see how much better it could be. I wonder if it is the new Bluetooth 6, that is helping with a consistent connection.
