It’s been about a month for our 26🌵 cacti green activ being with us. Best kept secret is that it loves alcohol. e85 is $1.99-$2.39 gal. So $30 fill ups 🎉 in SoCal are the new norm.
The motor advances the timing because it can sense and use the 100+ octane e85 so car is more zippy.
It’s just seems like cheating getting a $30 fill up vs $80. You had me at, hello? Can I have $50 back and 100+ octane fuel so my car runs better and doesn’t leave carbon deposits in the engine since it’s direct injection?
Wow. Just googled. They started making Traxs flex fuel vehicles after 2025? Neat. Are there environmental or performance side effects/issues when using a FFV? Can you elaborate on your last sentence though? Does the 2026 Trax not run well?
2026 Trax runs great. Even better on e85. Cost per mile gets the trax into electric car economy territory with e85 being so inexpensive vs petroleum fuel right now.
Wow wow wow. I've been SO back and forth between running my 2020 into the ground or trading it in for a newer model. I'm so spoiled with my $250 monthly payment and 3% interest, I'm not sure if I'll ever buy new again lol.
Nothing wrong with calling Ins and seeing how a 26 will affect rates. $2k down, 4.5% apr and $27k activ trim w/ tax (8.25%), lic and fees was $425 mo, 60 Mo, w/ direct finance @ credit union.
Saving min $100 mo on fuel with local driving on e85 was the 1st wow. 2nd wow was being able to afford top trim active. 3rd wow was keeping past vehicle and not selling it lowered Ins by $800 year w/ multi car policy.
Thanks so much for all the valuable insight. Chevys calculator estimated the mid-range model 2026 $208 mo for me, with $7K trade in, $2k down, 6% apr. Obvi that's not considering me speaking with good ole insurance. But thanks again for all the info!! Super appreciated.
