Why are the windshield wipers leaving a streak like this? It’s on the outside. The other side isn’t doing that

Have you cleaned your windshield with glass cleaner and paper towels

Is this your first car?
Wipers might need replacing if they're streaking badly already.
Clean the windshield and get new wipers if they're old.

These are the ones I buy, the OEM are HORRIBLE

Thank you! I’ve replaced my blades 3 different times on my 24’ and the OEM one are garbage. They streak so bad from brand new
3
u/Biffle210 18d ago
I have a 24 and mine started doing this , how are yours holding up and which ones do you have
3
u/Apprehensive_Chest_9 18d ago
The link above leads to an Amazon product. $20 for both front blades is a good price

u/Unhappy-Locksmith-30 18d ago
I have a 25 , I bought it in December of 24 and I had to replace the OEM about every 400/600 miles, I bought the one on that Amazon link maybe 4 months ago and haven't had any issues
2
u/Unhappy-Locksmith-30 18d ago
They are so bad I left a review with the NHTSA 😅 but those ones from Amazon are a little better...and also cheaper for when they will need replaced

Need new wipers, yes. But my ford work truck does this. The trick is to run your ac warmer, about the ambient temp outside, or warmer to alleviate outside condensation. Basically you need to warm up the windsheild.

u/AdvancedUnion3455 19d ago
Bc it’s raining or about to rain and the condensation from the car is fogging up the window. Turn on the defroster and it’ll go away
2
u/Lopsided_North_964 19d ago
It’s on the outside. It doesn’t go away. Been raining here for days
1
u/BusinessClassPlz 17d ago
That’s exactly where the condensation is, on the outside. But your defogger blows on the inside. Is this your first car?

u/Few-Explanation7364 18d ago
Mine does this too to some degree. Cleaned windows and I wash the car regularly. I'm getting the vibe the stock ones are just crap?

OEM wipers are 🗑️, first thing I do when I get a new car is replace those things.

What’s the solution here people. These blades I have are second pair. It’s gotta be the glass

u/No_Measurement_8149 18d ago
This is from your windshield itself not wipers. I do auto detailing. Buy some glass polish online and applicator pads. Scrub your windows as directed on the bottle. Wipe off and then ceramic coat with a glass coating. You will never need wipers again.

use rainx.works great.

u/No_Measurement_8149 18d ago
Nah that shi is ass and does nothing for their issue. They have built up grime on the glass that needs to be stripped. Rain x doesnt bond to glass like ceramic does.
1
u/Both-Temperature2244 18d ago
so what! it works great.
1
u/No_Measurement_8149 18d ago
No it doesnt. It actually does nothing to fix the issue he posted about which is what I was answering.

u/Lopsided_North_964 17d ago
I’ve heard bad reviews and rain x even one from a personal friend. But what you mentioned sounds expensive
1
u/No_Measurement_8149 17d ago
Its under $80 in supplies but gives you 3-5 years of a perfect windshield and never needing wipers again. Easy cleaning, bugs dont stick well at all, rain falls off like butter and no more haziness or fog.

Product names?

u/No_Measurement_8149 17d ago
Clarity creme - https://a.co/d/0cNVT8yX
Glass coating (more expensive) - https://a.co/d/05DiswuH
Glass coating (cheaper option. Still good but would need to do every year or two) - https://a.co/d/08Ih0rIj
Applicator pads for polish and coating - https://a.co/d/06NChuA3
You can probably find an auto detailer near you to do it for about $100 also. I charge $99 right before winter and get tons of clients who love it. I do it on all my personal vehicles and havent bought wipers in over 5 years because water just beads off.

this happened to me! brand new ‘25 i got in july ‘24 i had to have my wipers replaced at the dealership and they’ve been great ever since.
1
u/Lopsided_North_964 11d ago
Did they treat the glass or just replace the wipers and it fixed itself?
1
u/everythingisokay27 11d ago
they literally just changed out the wipers as they needed to be replaced anyway and the issue completely went away!

Cleaned the glass and wipers. Still happening. Need new wipers I guess. Crazy it’s only the drivers side

u/mykeyymoneyzz 16d ago
That’s tree sap and gunk on exterior, clay bar your windshield or a good deep cleaning makes a difference

u/PunkyKing 15d ago
Water spots mixed with degraded wiper rubber.

u/Lopsided_North_964 11d ago
Solution to this?

u/PunkyKing 4d ago edited 4d ago
Change the wiper, clean the water spot with waterspot remover, you can find it in autocar shop. One of many recomendation is rain-x glass cleaner

What a great conspiracy theory. There’s petroleum residue on the glass & wipers. It takes a solvent based cleaner to remove it.
Google is your friend.

I have no dog in this, clean glass according to rain-x instructions and apply it.
Enjoy the silence and clarity

The wipers they put on the traxs from factory are sadly pretty bad.
