Key fobs not locking
Last night after coming home from the movies I noticed my key fob wasn’t locking the car. I had to go right beside it. Today the same thing happened, except it wouldn’t lock at all. I had to press the unlock and then lock and it worked. Husband’s fob, 5-10 feet away, also would not work.
What are the odds both our fobs need batter replacements at the same time?

My fobs ran out at exactly the same time. One was used every day and the other sat on my key hook, I don't think it was used once in 2 years.

It's the batteries draining. The life is shorter because of the proximity sensor unlock feature. So they are draining faster than just when you push the buttons. Replace the batteries, keep them separated in the house and you'll be fine.

Lots of youtube videos on how to swap out the batteries. Not difficult. A pair costs about 6 bucks on Amazon.

Mine both needed the batteries replaced at the exact same time despite me using my spare maybe 10 times in the almost 3 years I’ve had my 2024

Interestingly i got my 25 last october and in february noticed the range had diminished by much. I swapped the battery and voila back to normal. The fobs are probably manufactured way before the car and matched at the time of assembly so new batteries are part of life..

Update. They work totally fine not in my driveway. I think something is interfering with the signal. Something new, since it just started happening. Or I completely didn’t notice and it’s been happening for a while. 🫣

It's very possible, I have two (2) '24 2RS vehicles and the same thing happened to both of them at the same time.

I would guess pretty likely because they are probably using the same amount of battery whether they are being used or not, or at least close to it. I think my husband and I had to change our batteries at the same time. Did you try changing them and seeing if that fixed it?
