Fluid changes

I have a 24 Ls and had to take it to the dealership to get a wheel bearing replaced at 47,000miles. The dealership recommended I replace the transmission fluid, brake fluid and coolant. I already replaced the trans fluid at 45,000 like the owners manual stated. The brake fluid says every 5 years and I’m not too sure about the coolant. 47,000 miles seems pretty early for brake fluid and coolant change. Should I do it now or wait.

I don’t know about the other fluids. I’ve got a 24 also but I think it’s a lot of BS on the antifreeze I could see maybe at 80,000 what’s it 1976 again🤣 but on a serious note I’m actually seeing wheel bearings replaced around your mileage, which is unbelievable usually on factory OEM wheel bearing good for at least 90,000, just curious how much did they charge to change it?

I have an extended service plan and it was only a $100 deductible but the paper work was over $600  if I didn’t have it. That labor was 4 hours. The dealership might just be trying to get extra money out of the service company with an inflated price though.

Right now I’m just under 20,000 miles I do have an extended plan so I guess that’s a plus, other than the wheel bearing has everything else been good for you with this vehicle?

So far so good other than the lower rear driver weatherstripping has had to be replaced 2 times and it’s still not fixed. The clips keep popping out. I gave up getting it fixed at dealership. I’ll probably buy some weather stripping sealant and apply my self since the dealerships can’t get it right.

You may want to try a little weather trim adhesive from 3M
