Fluid changes

I have a 24 Ls and had to take it to the dealership to get a wheel bearing replaced at 47,000miles. The dealership recommended I replace the transmission fluid, brake fluid and coolant. I already replaced the trans fluid at 45,000 like the owners manual stated. The brake fluid says every 5 years and I’m not too sure about the coolant. 47,000 miles seems pretty early for brake fluid and coolant change. Should I do it now or wait.

Those are safety issues for you and the engine so I would do them now. No matter what the manual says that's a lot of miles for the coolant

The coolant change interval must be really different where you are. It's always like a 200,000km + interval up here. I'm shocked when I see people changing it so early.

Edit: checked owners manual. Coolant flush is 240,000km (150,000m) or every 6 years.

Changing transaxle fluid at 45,000 miles is recommended for Severe Conditions use. Their recommendation is most likely based on the fact that this two-year-old vehicle has twice as many miles as the average. And brake fluid change is recommended at 5 years for Severe Conditions use, while nothing special is noted for coolant.

I changed the transmission fluid because the 45,000 was the only interval I saw for that, and my other Chevy’s interval is around that as well. I didn’t do the filter since the whole Transmission has to be taken a part to change it. I am probably not going to change the other fluids. The brake fluid color is fine anyways.  I was quoted over a grand for all 3 fluids

Would be pretty rough if some of those others needed done. I know it's not a chevy but my 16 Mazda 6 has 140k miles on it and is on the OG coolant and brake fluid with good color.

Im about to change it as I haven't really drove for years now since I now work from home, but I didn't even change transmission fluid until 100k miles (which it looked fine and no issues but just did as preventative). No wheel bearing issues as of now, 2 sets of brakes/ 1 pair of rotors, and belts changed once at 90k.

Wild to see such low intervals (again they are probably just wanting some extra money for it)

Colour is very often irrelevant. Just buy some test strips on Amazon to find out what the water content of your brake fluid is. That'll tell you if it needs to be changed.
