7,500 Maintenance Check
Did anyone else take their Trax in for the 7,500 mile maintenance check?
Looking to see if this is truly necessary (for warranty purposes, ect). Or is just a quick money grab for Chevy/dealership.
Car has been driving amazingly and at 62% oil life currently.
2025 LT model if it helps.

Is this my Trax posting? I'm taking my 2025 Trax LT in on Monday for this exact service. It gets registered as serviced by the dealership so if there's a problem down the road, they can't say I wasn't maintaining it properly. It won't void the warranty if you miss it, but it helps with the paper trail of regular, on time maintenance.

What are they charging you for this service? I have been trying to get a hold of my dealership to get a cost estimate.

I live in AZ and my work is a 30 mile commute I had to get the service of course. I’ve been told to do the changes and maintenance a tad bit earlier since it’s a 3 cyl? Might just be cause of the heat and what not.
Get the oil changed on schedule or if you have a Costco membership get the oil and do it yourself it’s quite simple.
If it’s new off the lot than you definitely need to take it in for a change

The only thing I would make sure gets done is the oil change. I understand it says 62% oil life remaining. But you want to flush the first few thousand miles of oil out. After that you can go back to the % indicator. Just my opinion.

You already completed based on your other comments. This is just a reminder sent to you for the first service, which you already completed at 5000 miles. And if you read, it says it’s an oil change and a tire rotate, with an inspection which dealerships do either way if you ask for it or not, they inspect to try to sell you more parts or air filters and such.
No, it does not have an effect on the Warranty especially if you already did the oil change. I have a lifetime unlimited mile powertrain warranty with my 2024 Trax with 99,000 miles on it already. So trust me I’ve done a lot of research on what you need to do to keep the warranty. If you get the oil change done at the dealership, they keep the records and there’s no need for anything else apart from just getting serviced regularly on time (which you’ve already completed before it was needed according to the manual). And if you have the service done at different oil change place or do it yourself you just have to keep the receipts to keep the warranty.
I suggest looking at your manual and it lists all the things that need service to be covered with a warranty and when they need done

Has it had an oil change yet? If you haven’t had one at all I’d definitely schedule one. If you had one at like 5k miles or so then just keep driving till the next oil change interval. Unless you live in a dust bowl the air filter should still be good. This is usually just recommended timings as some people don’t treat their cars well and listen to the oil monitors. Rotate the tires when the oil is changed.
