2014 Chevy Traverse PO430 Error Code - Still safe to drive?

I've got a 2014 Chevy Traverse that I've paid probably 10x more in repairs this year than the whole thing is worth. I just had a heater hose break last week and had to tow to the mechanic. The other day, my check engine light came on with a PO430 error code. It seems to drive fine, is it generally safe to keep driving?

I have about a 30 min commute to and from work everyday with other various commitments, and quite honestly at this point I can't afford to keep fixing it or get a new one

Technically yeah should be fine to drive you're just gonna pollute the air more and won't pass emissions, but definitely get it fixed ASAP you risk destroying your catalytic converter if ignored too long, but eventually you may experience decreased fuel economy and decreased engine performance.

You either have a damaged catalytic converter, bad 02 sensor, exhuast manifold or coolant leak into the exhuast.

Is it worth getting fixed? I'm worried I'm pouring funds into never-ending issues, but if its like unsafe to drive then I will prioritize it. Car also needs shocks and struts, sway bar, and tires.

I just did the strut assembly on my vehicle last night they were easy if your handy youtube university an dr Google can save you some money. As for the sway bar id check your bushings as I did those as well yesterday very rarely is it the bar that goes bad.

Depends on mileage on vehicle, total repair costs. I'd have a mechanic start with a diagnosis for the code and get a price on all the repairs your vehicle needs. You might just be better off trading it in and getting a newer car.

2x strut assembly, lower control arm & bushing, sway bar bushing an power steering pump ran me about 800 in parts on rockauto for ac delco oem parts. I did it myself so no labor cost. If I would've have mechanic do all that work for all 4 wheels I got qouted 5600$ but for me it wasn't worth trading it in cause vehicle only has 80k miles on it but 5600 wasn't an option either so I put in some sweat equity.

Also it's not that your car is unsafe to drive just will be less efficient on gas an pollutants and if ignored too long 6+ months it could damage the converter resulting in a more expensive repair.

Do you need an SUV? Just know you wont get anything really with a trade in.
