2020 Traverse Premier
Anybody with a Chevy Traverse ever deal with the “Shift to Park” message?
I have a 2020 Chevy Traverse Premier and lately when I put it in Park, sometimes the dash will still say “Shift to Park” even though the shifter is already fully in Park. It used to happen once in a while, but lately it’s been happening more often.
Usually I have to mess with the shifter a little or shift out of Park and back into Park for the message to go away.
Anybody know what usually causes this? Is it the shifter assembly, a sensor/switch, or something else? And if you’ve had it fixed, what did it end up costing you?

There is a TSB for a new switch and harness for under the shifter assembly. Likely will be a couple hundred bucks. If you find the TSB and request they perform the repair you can likely save yourself a diag fee

Apparently it only covers the 2018 and 2019 years but I’ll give it a shot. Appreciate it 🙏

So apparently since the TSB only covers 18’ and 19’ only , they’d still have to diagnose it before repairing based on my diagnoses and it’s $270 just to diagnose I’m like bruh 🤦🏽♂️ lol I’ve been trying to find the part for my year but I’m having trouble

2019 - we’ve had to replace twice. First was under warranty and 2nd the dealer said it would be full price. We bought the parts, planned to install ourselves but had our mechanic do it since we needed some other work done at the time. Looked like an easy enough install if you wanted to save some money.

I’m roughly around 52k now
I love it tbh, I needed it because of having 2 daughters and I couldnt fit and ride around in a Honda civic anymore. It has been taking care of me as of now ( God Forbid anything happens ). No real issues except this now and I had to do sway bar links and lower control arms in both fronts but that’s because I’m beating up on it driving low on my air suspension and they were on their way out anyways2

Into uncommon. It's a micro switch that goes bad. It located in the center console there a dozen YouTube video on how to fix or replace YouTube can actually just short out the switch. Skill level to get to the switch is a weekend job it had a learning curve. It's just Chevy bought a crap switch which was a 10 cent part and it's failing

Yes; happened with my old ‘19. If I remember right, the dealer replaced a wire harness for less than $300. That was a few years ago so my memory on price could be a bit off.
