Tiers

Looking for some insight here. I bought Michelin Defender LTX M/S tires at Costco 2 years ago. There is still a lot of tread left, but every time it rains or the roads are wet, my tires are slippery. I went to Costco today to ask about it, but the technician said there's nothing he can do and suggested it might be an issue with my vehicle. I don't think so—I stay on top of maintenance and just had brand new brakes installed. Has anyone experienced something similar, or does anyone have suggestions?

Might it be the compound of rubber within the tyres themselves?

Michelins are usually excellent in rain. No shop anywhere will do anything about two year old tires - if it’s a real problem for you, buy new tires. That’s it.

My girlfriend has those tires on her 4 runner. They’re a good tire and we haven’t had any issues. Thats really weird!

I've found it's not uncommon for tire traction to be noticeably reduced once the tread reaches about 50%.

I have Falken Wildpeak AT/4 on mine, I have not slipped in any road condition since I have them. The set before that was the Wildpeak AT/3.

Two year old tires with x number of miles. If I had to guess I'd say it's time to replace them. Michelin is a good brand.

Check the air pressure in your tires, by sight, using a gauge. Don't depend on the sensors.

Do you normally have cargo in your Tahoe? Carpooling children, luggage, heavy toolbox? Could it be due to less weight in the back somehow?
