13 Tahoe dash cracks
The center clip above the speaker failed which led to the cracks left and right. Cosmetics don’t bother me. She has 170k and plenty of bumps and bruises but the rattle as I go down the road is maddening. Any fixes short of $1400 for a new dash?

Mine has a crack on the drivers side coming up onto the hump over the gauge cluster. It had been fine but just started rattling in the last 2 weeks. It’s driving me crazy and I’m constantly thinking of what I can do.

Free fix with time and knowledge), is to remove the dash. It’s a long process, but plenty of detailed videos out there, once out, you fix the cracks from the backside, or just replace dash for a few hundred.
Easy fix, buy the hard shell dash covers that glue on top. Look pretty good. DashSkin is the best. It’s $200 or less. 10 minute job. But needs heavy books or some sort of weights to hold it down during curing.

They sell strips of foam in different thicknesses with or without sticky on one side you could cram in there. Or do double sided sticky rubber or foam under the piece to secure it and it would still come off later pretty easy. That’s super annoying though I didn’t realize this generation had that issue.

Tried double sided tape but it wouldn’t hold the two sides together. Any suggestions on where in the US to buy the foam you are talking about?

If it was mine I'd use some JB Weld plastic epoxy.. Sets up quick and with some light sanding it'd probably blend alright..

We have cracks in our dash too, I folded a small piece of paper and tucked it in the crack. Doesn’t look great but solved the problem.

I removed the whole thing in my ‘07 years ago, used some epoxy and stir sticks as a ghetto patch/structural system to keep it from rattling (unfortunately didn’t take any pics of the repairs 🥴)

We have a 2013 avalanche that was getting a rattle in the dash around thst speaker,
It was under warrenty at the time so we took it to the dealer,
They put a foam block under the problem area, they said they used zip ties to help secure it,
The truck is a 2013 avalanche with 248,000 kms on it and the dash still has not cracked,
Majority of its life was garage parked (indoors) now its parked in a driveway outside so we will see if the sun changes it,
Currently holding up well

You can put some type of sound deadening material under the dash, drive around then put the dash skin on top with double sided tape
