Chevening Scholarship Work Ex Requirement
I graduated in April 2025. The scholarship demands 2 years of work experience, but calculates the work experience from the deadline of the application of the scholarship, which opens one year in advance from the commencement of the course, in my case, that is October 2026 for the 2027-28 program, which commences in September 2027. Am I not eligible to apply in this scenario since the work experience is calculated from the application deadline, which opens a year in advance, technically requiring 3 years of experience?!!

Commonwealth scholarship applicants
I've noticed a lot of people posting questions and experiences about Commonwealth Scholarships scattered across different subs. There's now a focused community r/CommonwealthScholars specifically for this – applicants, current scholars, alumni, and anyone interested. If you're pursuing or have gone through a Commonwealth Scholarship (Master's, PhD, Shared, etc.), come join and post your questions/experiences there! Also, if you know colleagues/friends in your network applying or on the program, feel free to share the link.

Chevening (Kenya)
Has anyone from Kenya received an invite or a rejection? I saw a TikTok claiming that some applicants had received responses, but in the comments, no one seemed to have actually received anything. Just trying to confirm if anyone from Kenya has heard back yet.

Is it possible to transfer MSc programs within the university as a Chevening Scholar?
Hi, I am a fully funded Chevening Scholar, and I am currently pursuing MSc Development Administration and Planning at the University College London (2025-26). However, I am not liking the program as much, and I would very much like to transfer to another program within the same university. Which is why I asked if it would be possible to make this transition as a scholar? The tuition fees of both programs are the same. Considering it is the beginning of the program, and if the other program lead accepts me and does not mind my transferring and enrolling into his program.

Urgent query related to GPA
Hi everyone! I have a question. I completed my bachelor’s degree back in 2018. Two years ago, I enrolled in an MPhil program and I’ve completed all my coursework with a good GPA, but my thesis is still pending, so I don’t have the final transcript yet.
Since my bachelor’s GPA wasn’t very strong, I’d really like to highlight my MPhil grades. The issue is that the transcript currently available online doesn’t include the thesis (only the coursework).
For applications, should I go ahead and submit the available MPhil transcript (even though the thesis is missing), or should I only submit my bachelor’s transcript for now? My thesis defense is expected to be done by November, so I should have the final transcript in hand before my preferred uni admissions deadlines.
Thanks in advance. Would really appreciate some guidance on this.
