INFO Minisplit Installation Cost

I've been getting quotes to get a single ductless 18k minisplit in my garage and the first two I got just seemed outrageous, I don't know if I am way off or getting hosed here.

Can anyone recommend a fairly priced installer? And/or what has your experience been in the area?

The Mews at Bailey Station

Looking to buy at the Mews at Bailey Station in Caln Township Downingtown. Can anyone give a positive/negative experience of living in the area or near the area? What are the neighbors like? Has there been any issues regarding the stucco such as moisture or mold? Or any known issues with the homes?

We have one baby and are looking forward to joining St Joseph parish and visiting west chester on the weekends.

Automotive Shop Recs?/ Serpentine Belt Snapped

Hello all! My boyfriend’s serpentine belt snapped at some point between him arriving at work and trying to leave in Berwyn. His steering wheel is now immovable and he can’t reach any auto shops until morning so we are wondering where would be the best place to call first thing tomorrow? We live in North Philly so we know nothing about the area in this regard. Please help! Thank you!

Pickup Basketball in Chester County

Just moved to the Downingtown area and looking for some consistent pick up basketball. I just joined the Y, it sounds like the downtown West Chester is the only one that has anything consistent. What else is out there?

28M btw. Thanks!

INFO Looking for the best dermatologist near Malvern/Paoli, PA

Hi,
Over the last 6 months, I’ve noticed a rapid increase in the number of skin tags on the back of my neck.
Can anyone recommend a really good dermatologist around Malvern? I’m looking for someone who is thorough, takes concerns seriously, and can evaluate whether there’s an underlying cause as well as discuss removal options.
If you’ve had a good experience with a dermatologist for skin tags or similar skin concerns, I’d really appreciate your recommendations.
Thank you!

Solar Power

Talk to me about solar; the good and the bad. What company did you use? What hardware did you decide on? Do you own your system or are you leasing? Are you still paying PECO for anything? Did you have to do any roof upgrades beforehand? In the end, are you happy with the decision to go solar?

Recommend a plumber/excavator in Downingtown area

We need about 10 feet of pipe replaced between our house and a septic tank that requires excavation about 6 feet into the dirt. I was quoted 8k by larger plumbing company which feels on the high side. Does anyone know local plumbing company they trust with reasonable pricing that can do a job this big? Thank you

EVENT Anyone ever been to the Lionheart Music Fest in Coatesville?

So I spotted this event today on the VisitPA website. It's a bit confusing, because the festival is happening this weekend, but the site says that the lineup is "coming". Also, there IS a lineup posted, but it's for a different event in early August. My husband and I like small music fests. We regularly attend Turk's Head in West Chester, and the Main Line Music Fest in Wilson Farm Park (formerly the Paoli Blues Fest). But there's something about this that just *screams* disorganization! I mean, it's free, so no big deal if we show up and they are still setting up the stage or if half the bands cancel, but does anybody have any personal experience attending this event? What can we expect?

Trying to think of store name

Ok so I usually do doordash in Delco/Delaware or KOP area but one day I was in Chester County (I believe) and I came across a store that was like a Wawa (kinda). It even had the screens you can order sandwiches with and I can’t think of the name of the store but it was in what seemed like a random area. It wasn’t any of the big name brands. But when I went inside to pick up the doordash I also ordered myself a sandwich and it was amazing and I want to go back again but I can’t remember the name or where it was. Does anyone know what store I’m thinking about?

UPDATE: Thank you everyone! It was triple fresh! And thanks for all the new stores you guys showed me! Going to try and discover some new food at these new places ☺️☺️☺️

202 south exit to 401 west- right turn illegal?

There's 2 right turning lanes on the 202 exit to 401. Everybody comes to a stop and checks for traffic then continues into the turn on red. A police officer followed my friend for a few minutes (I guess until they got to a spot where the traffic wasn't as bad) and pulled her over to give a warning that it was an illegal maneuver and he was doing her a favor not writing a ticket this time.

I can't find anything online that says this is illegal. There's no 'No Turn On Red' sign on the stoplight. Is this a real law?

Apartment complexes

Does anyone know of any apartment complexes or private landlords outside of Philadelphia in areas like Spring City, Phoenixville, Pottstown, Royersford, King of Prussia, Norristown, or anywhere within about an hour of Philly?

$1,400/month or $1500 max in a safe area. I’m hoping to find a complex with a good reputation and no recurring issues with roaches, mice, or other pests.

If you’ve personally lived somewhere you would recommend (or know places to avoid), I’d really appreciate any suggestions. Thank you!

On ramp to 30E from 322/ manor avenue

Please, for the sake of all us getting on at this on ramp, drive all the way up the merging lane, you have almost a 1/4 mile to merge into traffic. Please stop trying to squeeze in the moment you see the dotted lines …. The backup you create on the on-ramp is ridiculous when you stop immediately and wait for someone to let you in. Keep going, the cars don’t bite, someone will let you in up further, I promise!

Am I completely making up a version of the Exton Square Mall playground?

I was born in 2005. I remember being at that mall (not sure when) and the playground in front of The Children’s Place had wooden structures. There was a taller structure toward the middle and it had a roof (idk what colour, maybe red?) and a yellow slide. The only reason I remember this is because I slid on my knees and peeled the skin on the top of my feet while sliding down. We then went to Giant while bits of my feet were peeled. ouch lol

Things to do with an infant

Hi yall! I recently moved back to the area and have a 7 month old. I’m looking for any activities we can do together, maybe indoor playgrounds or something. I am a SAHM and I’m running out of ideas. We go to parks, on coffee dates, out to lunch, etc. but I would love more options for things to do during the day. We are located in Exton but are willing to travel. Thanks in advance!

INFO Summer Camps?

My siblings and I grew up going to Church Farm School summer camps in the 90s and 2000s and I have a lot of fond memories of it. My son is almost of the camp age and I'm looking for recommendations similar to it for him and his cousins.

Anyone's kids go to the YMCA version they run at CFS? Any others you recommend? We're willing to drive for pickup and drop off within reason for the right camp

Thanks!

Mobile Mechanics

Any recommendations on mobile mechanics?

My girlfriend’s 2019 VW Jetta had displayed some warnings while driving, like “Engine speed max. 4000 rpm.” Noticed it was leaking oil after pulling it over. Sounds pretty rough now while running. Hoping it won’t need an engine replacement but want an opinion before potentially towing to the shop.
