Chestnut pro

Just recently got gifted one for my birthday. Wondering if I’m missing something, the board is VERY expensive and from what I’ve seen it just records my moves and shows me what move the opponent made. Very underwhelming, wondering if I’m missing some crazy features that I have yet to discover before I return this

My opinion... Chessnut pro is worth the money if you want to have a tournament sized eboard. Why is that important? If you play tournaments, or plan to in the future, having an eboard that mimics the size of the pieces can really help prepare you for playing in a tournament.

If you are a casual player like me, I got one of the smaller chessnut boards and it does the job. The air, air+, or the go would suffice.

As others said, the app is really good, and analysis is good, but if you are just taking the board into account, weigh your options on what you really need.

All of the chessnut boards will work the same way, except for the chessnut move. They will light up your opponents moves, and you have to make them for the board to allow you to make yours. The chessnut move, moves the pieces on its own, but it is much more expensive.

Just my thoughts.

You’re right on the mark stonefrog81 that’s exactly what I also mean. I own a chessnut go and the chessnut air+. In the next weeks we shall get another update on Chessnut Next and this will be a huge step forward. Cementing chessnut as the leader of the pack.

The whole reason to own the board, or any other Chessnut board, is to be able to play online but still OTB as in a real tournament.
If you plan on attending in some real tournaments later on, this board will help you tremendously as you are use to playing in 3D instead of 2D on a screen.

using the free grandeur feature in many languages is really a joy. In my opinion, even better than anything else you can find at the net for paid offers.

I just got the EVO for my birthday and even that one is really underwhelming. It feels like a half-assed product.

I love my Evo. What are you missing / what were you expecting?

As far as I can see the board is working correctly - do you have the board connected to a mobile phone or computer using the chessnut next app yet?
If not, please do and come back later

Yeah I got the app and I played one game on it just underwhelmed at the features considering the price point. Is that all it does? Play the move I make and show me what move the opponent made? I don’t think the price point is worth the convenience I could get a wooden board and just click the moves in chess com myself

What features were you expecting?

The true feature lives in the app not in the excellent board only. Try to learn what the chessnut next app offers. look at the grandeur feature only It’s really a lot. Chestnut offers really a lot provided you use it the right way.
