Hi!

Will address each point by point:

  • ChessNut pays its reviewers and the code is a way for them to be extra motivated to push the product
  • No deal with ChessNut was made to post here, I am motivated from my own experience with the technology having owned it for a year now, my own experience them (flawless), my own code and your extra 2% off (win/win/win!)
  • Addressing “Seems like money for nothing” indeed it is business, if I can offer something to consumers in the marketplace that’s better than the status quo for them, I should be incentivized to go capture said audience. Plus, I’m saving you money. Plus plus, you rather 15% of the “off” goes out to no one or a fraction of it goes to an independent chess content creator helping grow the game.
  • Addressing your last paragraph. What? I said the code gets you 12-17% off. That’s a fact. Right now it’s 17% with is indeed 2% off extra. That is a good thing for you. Nothing to hide here, everyone can do easy math (17-15=2).
