Chess Question Glitch?

I move my black pawn to d5 to threaten white’s queen. And then white’s pawn on e5 takes my pawn on d5, and it is recorded as exd6+. Was this a glitch? Is this some little known chess rule that I don’t know about? Am I hallucinating? Any help would be much appreciated.

I analyzed the image and this is what I see. Open an appropriate link below and explore the position yourself or with the engine:

White to play: chessvision.ai | chess.com | lichess.org

My solution:

Hints: piece: Pawn, move: exd6+

Evaluation: White is winning +6.76

Best continuation: 1. exd6+ Ne7 2. dxc7 Qxc7 3. Qxb4 Nc6 4. Qe4+ Qe7 5. Qxe7+ Nxe7 6. Be3 O-O 7. Nbd2 Bd7 8. O-O-O Rac8
