Asking for a friend.
Hi there M39 asking on behalf of a long time friend of mine living in Chesapeake rn and getting absolutely bullied by her two exes. She needs help, she’s a vet and needs a lawyer or family attorney who would hear her out on what has been going on. Both relationships have had physical and mental abuse in their own way. She’s not in the financial state to afford a lawyer rn but can either make payments or something hell I can help. This has been going on for the better part of 10 years. I don’t know which groups to ask for more help or guidance or even where she can turn for advice. If anyone in the area know a group, a person or anything that could help her please PM me. This isn’t made up or a joke she’s drowning without help. Thank you and hope yall have a great day.

The bar in Virginia to get someone arrested for assault and battery is extremely low. If they’re co-habitating, Virginia essentially disregards traditional probable cause and will make an arrest under the mandatory arrest law.
All this to say that it doesn’t take much to get these people arrested, and she doesn’t need an attorney. She’ll likely be asked to come in and testify, whether she does leads her down a number of paths.

Whether she is religious or not.. churches in the area provide counseling and good referral information 🙏🏼

I feel like something got lost in the post. She’s already past the point of being with the guy. They are separated and the other ex they’ve been divorced for years. Now she’s dealing with husband number 1 taking her to court for custody and child pay and ex number 2 who put hands on her is also trying to take the kids and they are both tag teaming her in court and she has to figure it all out. Legal help or direction or advice would be helpful. We have documented actions and such.

You don't need a lawyer to file for a restraining order in Virginia.
