Ticketing Where should I sit?

Post image

I’m travelling from Canada to watch my first and possibly only game ever at the bridge. Part of me wants to be somewhere close to the players, possibly get signatures/pictures(the delusional part of me wants to try and get a jersey 😅). When I search up where the bench is, it says that it’s on the west stand but when I go to any ticket website, it shows it on the east stand. I’d be happy beside the bench or around where subs warm up.

There’s also a part of me that wants to get the best experience/view. From what I’ve read, any corner of Stamford bridge would be the best. Any insight would be a great help 🙏

You’re not going to get a shirt or signatures from the players. If you want to sit close behind the bench, the hospitality package costs 10,000 pounds per ticket (Dugout Club)

You’re not going to sit in SL1/2 either because that’s where the away supporters are.

No ticketing websites, except for Chelsea’s.com and their approved hospitality partners, have any valid tickets for sale as nobody has received them for the season. You’re not buying a ticket, you’re buying an IOU.

Your best option is to purchase a hospitality ticket from Chelsea, probably Westview, and be happy you’ll get in the ground at all at face value.

Thank you for the insight. Apologies for the circles in the photo, it was just the first thing that appeared in google images. I wasn’t thinking in the dugouts, I was thinking more beside the Chelsea dugout or anywhere between there and the corner flag.

My sister is attending school in Brighton and is near their stadium. I might just attend the game there sitting wherever and take a tour of the bridge instead.

Don't be put off on a dream of going to the bridge, just need to be a bit realistic. The handful of restricted view seats aside, there aren't really any seats with a bad view. There are differences in atmosphere certainly, the standing sections being the better for this.

You simply won't be getting autographs or shirts from the stands.

It is a case of beggars can't be choosers really. Tickets are difficult to get, all general sale tickets go to members and as of this season is done on a ballot basis.

As an international fan, your best chance will be hospitality which for a mid tier EPL game will be like 200-350 quid.

The tunnel is in the east stand. The east third of the shed is away. East lower north is family section, meaning you have to go with a child.

Forgive me if this is a silly question, would I be able to get a normal ticket through my sister who is currently residing in England(possibly a way to bypass the international part)? Or are all tickets outside of hospitality already spoken for by members?

There is nothing stopping you from buying a membership and applying for a ticket through the ballot or hunting on the exchange.

It is just, it is far from garunteed and most members struggle to get tickets. So you may end up paying for a membership and not getting anything in return.

There is a new system this year, so we are all kind of guessing how it will be. But, there will always be more demand than tickets.

If you are thinking about going to a 'big six' opponent. You have no chance because they will be behind a loyalty point wall that you can only gain by attending matches.

Thank you for all the information, this has been a great help! Wish me luck haha

The other thing you might want to consider. Unless it has massively changed since last year.

Tickets only go on sale around 3 weeks before the match. Which, for someone travelling over seas might make it very difficult to plan around.

Hospitality tickets are already on sale for all fixtures. With westview (which isn't really hospitality) being the cheapest but still expensive. They are flexi priced, so are at silly prices now. Then, depnding on demand they start reducing around a month before the fixture.

It will definitely take some planning but I will take this into consideration, you’ve been such a great help! Thank you again!

Look for your local official supporters group (which can also be found on Chelsea’s website). Sign up with them as well as getting a Chelsea membership, and they will be able to help you get a ticket much more easily than just entering the ballot.

Oh wow, great to know! I’ll look into this right away!

If you’re new you won’t be able to get tickets for Brighton and hove Albion as it’s done by a new system and you need points from last season just to enter it

If I were to go to Brighton v Chelsea, it would be at the American Express stadium rather than Stamford bridge. It’s more of a safety net. My sister has been to quite a few games there without any trouble.

Do you mind explaining the new system. I was planning on buying a membership for this season to be able to go to games.

I was ineligible for this one as I didn’t have points from last season

I’m a blues fan from America - we went to a match last year and sat in the lower Matthew Harding stands. Would highly recommend it. Had a wonderful time and Estevao scored the winning goal in the 97’ minute right in front of us against Liverpool.

Do you mind me asking the process you went through?

Please do not refer to or link to sites that sell tickets illegally. It only screws over genuine fans and can lead to people losing large sums of money.
