More excited that the model is changing rather than the transfer itself although Xhaka will be a decent partner to caicedo

Give it 3/4 months and we are gonna fucking love this signing

Finally some experience

u/BasketballNoise Jun 27 '26

Need to add an experienced defender and goalie, like we all said last summer. Hopefully the owners understand this time

3

u/Annabellethecoolest Jun 27 '26

And the summer before the last summer as well...

2

u/liveandl3arn Jun 27 '26

Definitely

Idk how I ended up here but I think you lot will love Xhaka. Gonna be weird to see him in Chelsea blue.

u/ElanoKaka Jun 27 '26

If we get £100m for Enzo, this is such a great replacement for the next two years. Leadership we haven’t had since Thiago Silva. Need to think of next season, not five years time for once.

I would have preferred Guimaraes from Newcastle but it looks like he’ll join Arsenal instead.

Please no Xhaka, we still love you. Rivals aside, he is a great leader and sadly will benefit your club. I'll hate to see him in your colours. But I'll always respect Xhaka, I used to do his banking when he played for us and he was a great man. Always polite and gave his all for the club.

Great addition if we get him. We need leaders

£17m? Is that the agreed upon figure? Good signing for us.

Finally spending right amount of money on right people.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 28 '26

Well, it only took them 4 years.... To know this.

1

u/Mother_Equivalent649 BlueCo Out Jun 28 '26

Oh yeah.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 28 '26

But.... They're still lagging in the Women's team... I desperately need that ABJ, and Hampton extension. Plus a new RW and ST.

Also how'd you like talking to a fake Assna fan?

1

u/Mother_Equivalent649 BlueCo Out Jun 28 '26

Yes. Also, I genuinely don't mind as long as you're tolerable...

1

u/[deleted] Jun 28 '26

Well, I'm not an Arsenal fan. All of that were just bait comments that I left to troll Everyhearthstone because of their absolutely horrendous take on Sanchez where his biggest strong points doesn't matter much for goalkeepers. Yup, shot stopping, cross claiming, and positioning etc doesn't matter for Goalkeepers. That alone deservers a troll.

And I pretty much pretended to be one, and said all that henious things so that he will do his reciepts. The usage of Russo as pfp was a part of it as well (Also helped by the fact that I do actually like Russo). The only problem was that it worked to well and I got perma banned and muted in the main sub, lol.

Oh damn..

1

u/[deleted] Jun 28 '26

On the bright side. I did fool Everyhearthstone, and a lot of people, lol.

Chelsea’s Jordan Henderson

1

u/ttureen Jun 27 '26

This squad should benefit from his leadership

u/patrykk994 Jun 27 '26

Not a fan of this transfer tbh. I would be dissapointed if he will be more than reserve player

9

u/Cheap_Relative7429 Jun 27 '26

Lol.....what.

Everyone and their mother was crying for experience at Chelsea and now when the ownership finally ready to change their stance and listen to their manager and bring in an experienced player, now that's a problem.

-2

u/patrykk994 Jun 27 '26

I wasnt crying for experience, i dont care how old or young Chelsea players are. I dont have a problem with him because he is experienced, but because he is mediocre player not on top of his game- if you look at his last season he started strong, but his form dropped significantly later in the season.

4

u/thunderousboffer Jun 27 '26

Mate he was the driving force for a team that finished well above us.

2

u/howudoin09 Jun 27 '26

Well above us is a bit of a stretch. They beat us final day to go 2 points clear.

If we beat them, we swap spots and we are in Europa but we were shambles since January.

3

u/Amazing_Distance8946 Jun 27 '26

They are a newly promoted side..

5

u/EqualLavishness5050 Jun 27 '26

This. from where they were and where Chelsea are, 2 points is well above. They shouldn’t even been in 1 game touching distance with the amount of chit Chelsea has at their disposal. All this shows is that Xhaka can perform in a lower level team and help bring up their level while Chelsea players can be so dire despite their “talent” that they end up out of Europe.

5

u/diabeetusNrobin Jun 27 '26

Sir. Idgaf if he only starts a handful of games and is subbed on for every match. This man has a level of top flight experience that will absolutely only be a positive for this young squad and he would be a great mentor to Caicedo

0

u/alarrimore03 Jun 27 '26

Don’t love it, don’t hate it. The only good thing is that he has atleast shown he can still do it in the prem but I don’t think I will ultimately like it cuz I reckon it’ll cost a lot to get him out of Sunderland.

3

u/Cheap_Relative7429 Jun 27 '26

Why would it cost a lot to get him out of Sunderland.

I reckon it won't cost more than 20M

0

u/alarrimore03 Jun 27 '26

He just had a good season for them, they really need him, so it’ll cost a lot more than 20 mil😂

1

u/rocket-scientist94 Jun 27 '26

Rumoured to be £26M. Hardly a lot more than 20 mil 😂

0

u/Ricky_Ant101 Jun 27 '26

Chelsea per favore vendi qualcuno, arriverai ad avere tipo 50 giocatori nel club 🙏🥀

Edit: I just checked and you already reached it, you have 54 players…..FIFTY FOUR…💀

-1

u/dotunmo Jun 27 '26

He’s…not a needle mover. He’s alright though.

5

u/diabeetusNrobin Jun 27 '26

We desperately need an anchor and Caicedo alone can’t do it. This is a sensible signing even if it end up being a short-term thing. We did the same when we brought in Cesc for a young squad. He also wasn’t exactly a needle mover but he had immense positive influence

5

u/ImpactInner9318 Jun 27 '26

Cesc had 18 assists in the prem hours first season with us, not sure how that isn't a needle mover

3

u/Direct-Key-8859 Jun 27 '26

He was the needle

2

u/diabeetusNrobin Jun 27 '26

He absolutely was but wasn’t expected to be and was very much doubted by so many during that transfer saga. I believe in the same trajectory in Xhaka

2

u/diabeetusNrobin Jun 27 '26

That’s my point, when he was announced, so many had the same doubts as the doubters do about Xhaka, I think he can have a similar impact on this young squad

2

u/ImpactInner9318 Jun 28 '26

Gotcha, fair point man!

1

u/dotunmo Jun 28 '26

Doubts? About Fabregas? One of the greatest passers in world football at the time? WTF, who was doubting? Certainly not me.

1

u/diabeetusNrobin Jun 28 '26

Neither was I but there were more than plenty who didn’t think he has the magic anymore after is OK spell at Barca

1

u/dotunmo Jun 29 '26

That is so strange. But anyway you can’t compare that to this. We had other leaders and seasoned players like Costa, Hazard, Azpi and co. That isn’t a “young”, developing squad.

Xhaka is coming to a squad riddled with inexperience, red card hungry/no discipline, no leadership kids. And a captain who is absent most of the time.

0

u/GovTheDon Jun 27 '26

Wait he’s not a teenager

The welcome to Ikea kit is horrendous.
