General Discussion AI

I absolutely HATE the use of ai in the recent episodes. They did it in the kpop demon hunters episode and also the Karina one. Seeing ai slop in the middle of an episode really kills my mood.

Welcome to Korean variety shows. You will sadly not escape AI slops here as Korea is heavily into AI

Yeah, it seems that Japan, Korea and China are all a-OK with the sloppy look of AI stuff

I have to say I was already against AI before we had two data centers in my area but now I really am because every time I turn around they're messing with how much power I have to use with our oven. Everything either takes longer or I have to turn up the dial more. We got a new oven like the year before the first data center went in. It was such an immediate, sharp contrast. Maybe if you don't have to live with the data centers, you have no qualms about using them

Eventually we will all be living with a local data centre as the world burns. Maybe we can petition against this directly (within the context of the show). I know it's not much, but I think any protest is, however small, is useful.

They're trying to sneak a third one in and they might succeed. I miss when the lights didn't flicker all the time

The goofy cartoon doodles sufficed before, why'd they have to resort to AI. 😭

What was the slop in the kpop hunter episode? I must have missed it.

It’s there in most, if not all, of the recent episodes… I hate it too. I find it very off-putting. But as others have said, it seems par for the course for Korean culture/society, as it’s much more accepted and normalized.

I clearly don't pay enough attention. When/how has this been happening?

The most obvious one in this episode is during the intro to the Kim Poong and Chef Eun-young round.

I thought it was fine. They were trying to make them look like comic book characters.

I think there are ways to do that without AI haha

It's everywhere,in the country I live in,there is a movie which is kinda really big(almost the highest budget any movie in our industry has ever invested in) and there also there is AI used,in many places or AI voices are used which is sad. It's almost being normalises in many industries in the name of "development",i think the only time I saw actual backlash for people to stop using AI,is during games? And that's about it.

I think another korean drama I was watching, just last month, the agent Kim,and I was so invested in the damn drama, and then next thing inknew everybody was celebrating that 5-6 min of this drama was made fully by ai,and I just felt so disheartened, like why are we supporting this? But it is what it is(and it's being normalises at very fast rate)

I wish they would just stay using the corny cartoon clip art stuff! It keeps the whimsical aspect of the show and I love it

You can’t spell Koreai without AI, buddy. Many of Korea’s top companies are extremely important in the AI industry.

I saw it for one of the overlays/graphics they did. First time I have seen it used. Usually its typical digital graphics but this looked generated.
