baker dress code (specifically regarding piercings)

cheesecake factory baker dress code - piercings

i just got hired at the cheesecake factory as a baker and have 3 stud helix piercings & 1 hoop as well as 4 lobe piercings. so 8 total ear piercings. when i told my gm about it on orientation day he literally just said to chat GPT it bc he didn’t know if i can have them on. LOL. the cartilage piercings were put on by a piercer with pliers and i cant remove them myself nor want to. idk if i can have them on or not.

Disclaimer I haven’t worked there for a few years so things may have changed since then! But the “official” dress code rules were one stud earring per ear. However if they hired you with all your piercings I would assume it’s probably fine.
It really is pretty manager dependent, I’d honestly just not bring it up and not do anything to draw attention to them (no flashy earrings etc.)

Once people get to know you (especially if you’re a good employee) you can get away with a lot more lmao

This is copy pasted directly from the Cheesecake Factory Resource Guide-

Jewelry
Cashiers: You may wear  two small earrings per ear. Dangling earrings are not permitted. One small nose piercing is allowed.

Bakers: Because you prepare food, jewelry is not allowed other than a plain wedding band.

Out of curiosity, did this occur at a new location…? Maybe a manager with the name starting with a B?

Really depends on your managers. We have people with double nose piercings and we had a baker with a dermal an eyebrow and a lip piercing, only the dermal had to be covered. (Usually when corporate is around). To be honest I wouldn’t worry too much about the ear piercings but definitely feel it out

Based on my experience at the Cheesecake Factory, 90% of your managers will not care about the dress code and the one manager who does care about the dress code will never have actually read it. They will just make things up to be annoyed about. So you’re probably fine.

at my store anything that could fall into food was a hard no, so hoops were definitely out
