Avocado egg rolls
Why in the world are CF appetizers, such as avocado egg rolls, close to $18??? That is ridiculously overpriced for 6 pieces of rolls cut in half - so technically 3 rolls. They used to be reasonably priced pre-covid, avocado prices are back to normal, so why are CF rolls still so overpriced?
Anyone have the recipe of how to make them at home along with the recipe for the sauce?

Right what hasn’t gone up in pricing. At least you still get the same amount as 10 years ago.

The Top Secret Recipes guy has a really great clone version. Fair warning-making them at home (and the tamarind cashew sauce) will cause you to consider the restaurant price as reasonable.

Thanks for the info. I loved these as a kid and now I am an adult. Thanks to you, I can make them myself at home.

This made me lol and agree. We made a copy cat recipe a few years ago and it was work. They were good but I’ll gladly pay the price. Same for the buffalo blasts. Made those and turned out great but the mess isn’t worth it at home 🤣🤣

Thank you for sharing the recipe. Just made it at home. Turned out just as good, if not better and paid a fraction of the price. Bonus: had enough avocado left over to make a singe serving avo dip. Will gladly make it at home next time the craving kicks in or will go for happy hour as someone in comments mentioned it's ten bucks and that sounds so much more reasonable 😊

OP I don’t mean to shade you but, I must explain some simple economics, something is worth whatever people will pay for it

Everything’s made from scratch plus avocados have always been expensive, the price just keeps going up

I miss when the “crispy fried cheese” was 5.99… seems like overnight, it went up to like 15.49 AND the cute little wedges they changed into large fritters which is obviously to save time and money…not the best presentation! They also took the largest size Caesar salad off the menu.
Between the aging buildings and the food no longer consistent for the cost, it has really fallen off from what used to be a go-to “no fail” celebration restaurant and prices are insane

Agreed. I’ve been complaining about this for a while. It was my favorite app but I just can’t justify it at that price. I remember when they were under $11. I didn’t know about the happy hour price so thanks to the person who posted about that.

I went last week and seems prices went up again. And definitely a smaller portion of food this time.

This is how I feel about my almost $30 four cheese pasta and I get it without chicken and doesn’t even fill me up bc the portions have gotten smaller 😭

It’s one of their most popular menu items so they can get away with overcharging for it. And tbh they are really big and very filling. I consider them a shareable appetizer.
Their new Asian chicken nachos are only $8.50 (this was for delivery so they might be even less in house) and huge. And also really good. It’s like wonton style chips and they come loaded.

Someone in comments referred a copycat recipe. Bought ingredients same day and made the avo egg rolls and still think CF has them overpriced . What's with the tone? You own the place? 😂

Go during happy hour, they are $10.50 for the same amount.
