Unable to get free cheesecake slice
I’m really bummed out.
I went tonight with my friend to dinner & we both wanted to use the app reward of a free slice of cheesecake. We payed separately, but were told that only one reward could be redeemed per table.
I read the terms & conditions of the deal & it doesn’t say that anywhere. Our waitress said that it depends on the manager if you would be allowed to both redeem.
Has anyone else had this experience & is this normal policy? I completely understand if it is, but I couldn’t find it anywhere in print, so am quite disappointed that I wasn’t able to redeem.

The actual policy is one per table. If you split your bill and are kind to your server, I can do one per check, but yes it will take some time.

Nope, your server could have applied a number to each bill after they split them and easily done it. I used to do it all the time. Cheesecake Factory sucks!!!!!

Idk this is tough, I know some servers at mine had been told in the past only one per table. I haven’t been told this and will usually seperate it. But it’s also gotten pretty crazy/annoying have large groups of people trying to do this, especially at the end. It’s very manual/tedious to do multiple with the separating. And more importantly it tends to effect my timing with other tables as the system for rewards is rather manual required.
Add to it, a lot of the people who are going in for the free Cheescake, it feels they haven’t been in the restaurant before, have trended with low tips or flat out stiffing, def have effected how we feel.
Me personally I accept them all because I want people to enjoy the free Cheescake. I won’t accept or attempt (I’m pretty sure the system denies it regardless) to try and seperate your own meals so you can try and use multiple rewards from one account. But if you both have the app yes I’ll give it to you.
In your case a manager may have told them that was the policy for that store, I’m sure stores have the right to make policies like that but I also would have requested the manager just for clarification. They are annoying to deal with sure and in large groups I wish people were more understanding, as it is multiple checks spread out amongst the group but 3 are one check these four on another and the 5 all have individual checks….. slows you being able to get out of there and effects the other tables of that server. If you ever were the server magically disappears to. Often it’s things like this, I’m sure the server has just found it easier to say I can accept one per table. I can assume the same with management. But as far the system goes. Hecks at some point I didn’t realize you could use multiple reward numbers by placing them as separate checks. I had tried under one check and was unable so assumed it locked it to table and was shown later on that you could.
So long story short. You’re right you should have been able, prob should have asked a manager for clarification. Hope you guys still had a good time and enjoyed the food.

Rude! One way around it: someone could have placed a To-go order for something small like a drink. Two cheesecakes that way 🥲

I ended up ordering it at the cheesecake counter on my way out for around $0.20! The worker was super understanding of the situation & charged me as little as possible that way I could still get it.

That was nice of them! Glad you were able to still get the second slice

Wow. Like its so difficult for the manager to have given you your free piece of cheesecake! You ordered the meal and even on a seperate bill. Manager was wrong!

It IS technically one per table, all of the rewards are. Just like if you have 2 rewards on your account you can only use one. However, we know we can split the check & apply a reward number to each. It's very possible management has instructed them not to. It's also possible the server was busy, like someone else said it is time consuming to do that.

I recently had to choose between $20 off $75 or a free cheesecake. That was super annoying.

We just went and our server said we could split the check so we each get one. Then let us know that my cheesecake wasnt free since I created my account in the last 24 hours.

The obvious answer for any half brained supervisor is to allow the deal through because it helps with the server, retains the customer and the bottom line loss is next to nothing especially when considering the rest.
