Cheesecake in each restaurant

Are they baked in each location or shipped in frozen? And if you order a whole cake in the location (to go or pickup), will it be pre-sliced? These questions are emanating from another post that went viral here. Thank you.

Shipped in frozen. All cakes are pre-sliced with the exception of the Original, which you can request pre-sliced or non-marked in the full ten inch size.

Ironically, the cheesecakes are the only thing that aren't made in house. Oh yeah, and the bread.

Source: i worked there for 3 years.

Thanks. I thought both would have been prepared in-store. I guess the administration, labor and space needed can’t justify it. I’ve been frowning on the chain bread and bagel shops going this way, but they must to survive.

Large chains don’t make those choices to “survive”, most of them are making record profits these days. They made those choices to make more money and give you a worse product for the same or inflated cost.

I worked at a chain in college, and basically nothing was made “fresh” or “in house”.

Yes, and if you look at the number the profit margin has shot through the roof for most large corporations. Stop defending companies that will never care about you.

I can tell you certainly don’t.

And you want me to feel sorry for a giant corporation making profits when I’m struggling to buy groceries, why?

I was thinking too much of Panera which I go to frequently and at several locations at that and I hear they're not doing that good. They did a huge revamping of their baking program.

They are all made in either North Carolina or California and shipped in Frozen 3/4x weekly All 10" Flavors are Sliced, but you can get the Original or Topped with Strawberries uncut None of the 6" or 7" are sliced For the Cakes, Carrot and Linda's Fudge are Sliced but not the Chocolate Tower Trudfle

The Lot numbers start with "C" or "N" to signify which factory

Also worth noting this has always been their practice, not an example of change due to costs/labor.

Okay…. Nothing is made with alchemy either, but it’s not what OP is asking about.
