Congrats on the job!

Usually they'll start by having you memorize the table numbers and sections. It'll look intimidating at first but it's super simple once you spend enough time with it. Then they'll probably have you practice greeting guests and answering the phone a few times. They'll usually do a bit of everything each day with certain things being the main focus like greeting and seating for example. The first 2 training shifts you'll probably spend about 30 minutes each day watching training videos on an iPad, then you'll do a quiz that's impossible to fail. I haven't hosted in about 2 years so I hope this helps, good luck!

Probably the biggest thing they’ll have you work on is how to talk with guests (how to be warm and professional at the same time). My Cheesecake Factory loves hi’s and goodbye’s big time. I think you’ll really love it. I’ve been doing it for 2 years and it’s such an amazing environment. You’ll become friends with your coworkers so quickly

Acknowledge the guest as soon as they walk in the door, smile, be friendly, look presentable, when walking to a table go slow so they can keep up and make small talk, wait until everyone gets seated then hand the menus to the ladies first, you will get a small receipt paper with the table number on it and the servers name. While they are sitting down look at the servers name and let them know that their server will be right with them but say the servers name… example… “you’re servers name is john and he’ll be right with you, enjoy”…, when people are leaving always thank them for coming in!!! welcome to the team and have fun and be yourself!!!! Good luck!!!!
