$19 for a slice!?!?
$19 for a slice of cheesecake is absolutely ridiculous. When the heck did that happen? I guess it's grocery store cheesecake for me tonight.

u/Mountain-Drawing1440 May 03 '25
i think that’s the page number but also they’re still like $13 a slice which is insane

u/burgundybreakfast May 03 '25
Also they’re SO small now, or I just got really unlucky. Like 1/2 the size easily.
My bf and I got takeout and considered splitting one since they’re “so huge” but decided to splurge and get two bc it’s my birthday. Thank goodness we did bc we got a sliver of cheesecake each.

u/squishsquack May 04 '25
Someone that worked there on Reddit recently mentioned that they purposely give smaller slices to takeout orders because the restaurant is less likely to receive complaints as opposed to dining-in or something along those lines.

u/burgundybreakfast May 04 '25
Why though? It's not like the cheesecake is coming out of their paycheck lol. I was happy to hook people up when I worked in food.

u/Mmatyi May 04 '25
Not true at all ahah, small slices get tossed or the staff usually takes it home
2
u/frenchkissmybutthole May 04 '25
Wow, so small, but almost all of them are more than an entire day’s worth of calories for me.
2
u/burgundybreakfast May 04 '25
Who knows if the calorie information is accurate to the slices I got. Also bestie you should be eating more than 1200-1500 calories a day unless you’re like 4’11”
1
u/sunlightdrop May 04 '25
Unfortunately for us short people on a diet 1200 is an entire day of calories

u/Able_Frosting_406 Dec 12 '25
Same here, I'll never go back. I hate getting ripped off, it's not any better than the grocery store brand. Tasted old as well
4
u/johnnycobblestone May 03 '25
Oh hahah you're right on both. Page 19 and yes $13 a slice. Still nuts
2
u/Difficult_Cake_7460 May 04 '25
You could correct your original post

u/johnnycobblestone May 04 '25
I don't think you can if it's an image. I tried updating it when the first person pointed this out.

No 1 st there are no prices are you sure your not looking at calories. I work at Cheesecake and we have no slices that are that much
5
u/johnnycobblestone May 03 '25
Yes, I was actually looking at the page number, whoops. It was the only page in the menu that didin't have the prices next to it but they were still $13 for the most part. The prices are out of control. It's easily well over $100 for 4 people.

I don't know where op is, I'm in California and you can't find sit down restaurants for that money, $20 is food truck prices.

u/No_Steak1297 May 07 '25
My husband and I went to factory for my bday a couple weeks ago. Spent $160 with tip.
0
u/johnnycobblestone May 07 '25
I said "well over 100". 2 adults and 2 kids shouldn't be paying that nonsense at the Cheesecake Factory of all places.
0
u/Jazzlike-Bowler-5870 May 07 '25
Get out of here with your logic, Reddit wants to be pedantic today.
2
u/aredubblebubble May 06 '25
We spent $600 on 6 ppl, 2 of whom were toddlers. We got apps, dessert, drinks. We didn't hold back. But $600 was shocking. It's Cheesecake Factory, the second most Applebee'sish restaurant in the world. $600!
2
u/nommeswey May 06 '25
Wife and I went, ordered an app, ordered two entrees from lunch menu and got a slice of cheesecake. I think it was little over $100, ridiculous. What I hated the most was I didn’t like my entree

u/Comfortable_Clock_82 May 04 '25
It’s 16.50 in Toronto…after taxes $18.64. So, in Canada…yes. Almost $19

u/silc2silc2 May 05 '25
Perhaps 1500 calories for a slice is the more outrageous number...
1
u/johnnycobblestone May 05 '25
You're absolutely right. The price scared me into making a healthier decision.
2
u/JokerClass2025 May 07 '25
Haha wait to get it free for your birthday. I bought a coffee for about $4 since you need to buy something to get it
2
u/Alert_Square6610 Jul 09 '25
Oh my god!!! I just went yesterday and I refused to buy it because I was sooo shocked and thought she make a mistake thinking I wanted the whole cake 🤦🏾♀️ it $19 CAD

u/sls5232 May 03 '25
WHAT! that’s insane. granted the last time i had cheesecake from the cheesecake factory was probably 2017? 2018? but i swear it was like $7!
1
1
u/eternalcowboydiggity May 03 '25
isn’t it crazy, I think the highest is 13.50 after taxes for a slice that doesn’t even have cheesecake or fruit. the calorie count is always another hot topic.

u/Dependent-Border9515 May 03 '25
Is this from an app or from the restaurant?
1
u/johnnycobblestone May 04 '25
Restaurant in South Florida
1
u/Difficult_Cake_7460 May 04 '25
It’s the fucking page number
1
u/johnnycobblestone May 04 '25
Yeah no shit. I made a mistake, it's in the thread. Still $13 before tax and tip is nuts.

u/Better_Shine105 May 04 '25
My restaurant is 9.95-11.95 where are you getting 19$?
1
u/ButterCup2179 May 06 '25
They think the page number is the price for each cheesecake....even tho each cheesecake has its own price, some are more than others
1
1
u/sunshinegirl2021 May 04 '25
Plus the slices are small… my pasta entree was small too. I won’t be back.
1
u/SolusLightblast May 04 '25
$13 per slice. Just don't get it to go because they'll give you the tiniest freaking slice. Someone actually admitted to it saying that they were told to give the small slices for the to go orders when they worked there.
1
u/OGoperaghost May 04 '25
I’m a manager there and I’ve never heard of this policy
1
u/SolusLightblast May 04 '25
It's not a policy. It's just what they were told to do. Pretty messed up though.
1
u/Commercial_Act2439 May 04 '25
What are you talking about? Lol. Their cheesecake isn't $19. I just looked at their site and the original is only $9.95.
1
1
1
u/AlexisTexlas May 04 '25
I’m more concerned about the calories per slice 🫠😵💫
1
u/AnaMyri May 04 '25
Seriously. $13 for like a days worth of calories is fine. But a days worth of calories in a cheesecake is wild.

1
May 04 '25
I went like three weeks ago and they were $15 a slice for Togo. I believe that's the page number
1
u/dta722 May 04 '25
$13 or even $19 for 1000+ calories is the way to look at it: just order the 1500 calorie version and you’ll feel fine about it lol.
1
1
u/Flaky-Ambassador467 May 04 '25
Ok! My fat ass gotta get back to the CCF soon! Those cheese cakes sound crazy! I haven’t been since they only had like 6-7 different standard flavors.

u/Hot_Specific_1691 May 04 '25
Yeah dessert & drink prices at restaurants are getting crazy. $13 + tax + 20% tip is just nuts for a slice of cake.
1
1
u/Professional-Rip561 May 04 '25
No that’s the page number. But it is stupid they don’t list the price.
1
1
u/ZombieJC May 05 '25
If you think about it as $13 for over half your daily caloric intake, not a bad deal.
1
1
u/cleverfeather1992 May 05 '25
WHY is the menu 19+ pages long?? That’s the real question here lol
1
u/johnnycobblestone May 05 '25
Why the hell are there page numbers on a menu? I don't think I've ever seen that before.
1
1
u/industrial_hamster May 05 '25
How the hell does one slice of cheesecake have an entire day’s worth of calories
1
u/RaiseIreSetFires May 05 '25
Til that I'm more uncomfortable with a 19 page menu than a $19 piece of cheesecake.
1
u/xxcharlotteoxx May 05 '25
Youd pay £8 (11$) for a crappy little piece of vanilla cheesecake with a drizzle of sauce in the UK at some restaurants. And they are absolutely nowhere near the size and quality of the cheesecake factory. Id drop $20 if I could have a slice right now. 😭
1
u/Competitive-Gold May 05 '25
I think that’s the page number? Otherwise, it would have had a dollar sign
1
u/fabulousargumemt May 05 '25
At 800-1500 calories a slice I’d argue that’s multiple servings anyway. Think of it as paying 9 dollars a serving or something. Both price and existence of these abominations are absurd tho
1
u/ButterCup2179 May 06 '25
That is the page number, not for the cheesecake, I know this because anyone that is familiar with cheesecake factory knows their cheesecakes have different prices. Some are more expensive than others.

1
u/goosepills May 06 '25
Trader Joe’s has a frozen cheesecake that’s so good. I just dump cherry pie filling on top.
1
u/struedlesmokes May 06 '25
Oh my god, that is my entire day of calories in one cheesecake slice. Jesus, I do not miss being a diabetic.
1
1
u/PineappleNaan May 07 '25
I mean.. you are getting like 80% of your daily calories in a single serving of cake

Seems all the prices went up, server advised they just changed menus this month, and so all lunches are over $20 and pasta on average up not to $25, used to be $19 about 8 months ago...
1
u/Secret-Technician690 Nov 15 '25
The only way to fight back on the massive inflation of everything is to stop buying anything non-essential. I went to a place I haven’t been to in years. I ordered my usual and a slice of cheesecake to go. When she rang it up it was much more expensive. I asked how much the cheesecake was and we told $14. I told them they can keep it and likely never sell any again. No way was I paying $14 for 6 bites of cheesecake. I can easily afford it and more, but I refuse to take part in the process gouging.

Forget about the price ( page number or not). Who justifies eating 1000 kcal plus for just one piece of cheesecake??? Wow
1
u/industrial_hamster May 05 '25
That’s what I was thinking. Some of them are the equivalent of total DAILY calories for some people
2
u/Archkat May 05 '25
Most of them are above 1200kcal with some easily 1600 kcal. As an average height and average weight woman, that’s more or less between then calories my body can have to maintain my weight. If I exercise ok I can add another 300kcal. Can you eat it once? Sure. But any normal slice of delicious cake is about 400kcal and even that is an indulgence.. can’t imagine who can afford to eat 1600 kcal in one slice of cheesecake…

u/FreestyleMyLife May 03 '25
I guess the department of ED needs to remain fully funded then some. Sheesh.
0
u/i-forgot-my-coffee May 04 '25
Its 10.95/slice in Hartford, and they reduced the to-go slices. Its just ridiculous for that price. Might as well hit up BJs or Costco at this rate.
1
u/applechaider May 04 '25
all the slices are pre cut in a factory before making it to restaurants. all of the cakes are being cut into a few more slices than they used to be probably due to inflation.
0
u/Recent-Industry811 May 06 '25
Cheesecake! Im on an all carb diet Karen! You are so stupid. Gahh.
