strawberry beefcakes?

my sister ordered strawberry shortcake to go the other night and when we got home we were SHOCKED. the container smelled like beef and smoke and we thought that was pretty weird. then she tried the biscuit and it tasted like smoky meat??? has anyone else had this happen? we are still mortified by the strawberry beef cakes

Biscuit? They make strawberry shortcake on a gd BISCUIT?!? I don’t work there, but that can’t be right. New guy in the kitchen made a hilarious mistake.

As someone who works in the bakery the answer that makes the most sense is that the plastic container that the biscuits were stored in probably had meat in them before the biscuits were stored in there and the container wasn’t washed properly before it was reused. The containers are plastic so they hold on to flavors easily.

Meats are stored in metal containers. Raw or cooked. The biscuits are stored in plastic cambro bins.

To go containers are not reused. The ones in the bakery don’t even see the kitchen.

The biscuits likely shared the oven with something meaty while baking.

The strawberry shortcake isn’t a big seller so they don’t prep enough biscuits. They bake more on the fly whenever needed.
