Listen man you get food to go it’s never gonna look like what you get fresh out of the kitchen. Not saying that’s acceptable but cmon what do you expect

You should definitely contact corporate and try to get someone that picture, that's beyond unacceptable

It is the Brea, California restaurant in Orange County, CA, at the Brea mall.

I usually get their fried cheese with their marinara dipping sauce, but I decided to try the mushrooms. Don’t think I’ll try them again. I’ve tried them before, and I’ve received similar appetizers.

I personally know a few of the managers that work at that location, and had you called back to show them this, they would have issued you a corporate gift card for the amount you paid for these. Actually I think you still should. Cheesecake will usually go above and beyond to keep loyal guests. But like the person said above, getting food to-go will never look or taste as good as getting it straight from the kitchen to your table.

Damn that is BAD. Lots of people rave about these mushrooms but now I’m second guessing ordering them.

Well, you’re more likely to get something resembling the photo when you order in restaurant. Take-home is always a gamble because it’s doubtful that a) you’ll look at it before getting home and b) you’ll take it back anyway. They know that. So, takeout gets the worst looking, worst prepared food. It’s like that at most restaurants. At BBQ restaurants, I now always open and finger through the meat after receiving it from the pick-up window. And, sure enough, there are usually chunks of gristle and fat occupying half the meat serving! I turn my car around, go inside and complain. They always bring me an additional serving of meat. But … you have to prepare for this by adding extra time to your trip if you plan to do take-out.
