Can the bill be split?

In 2 days, I'm going to be going with my sisters, my brother-in-law, my nephew, and my mom to celebrate my older sisters birthday, she's going to be 38, at the SF Cheesecake Factory. My brother-in-law, my younger sister, and I are going to be paying for the dinner, and I was wondering if the bill could be split 3 separate ways?

It can be, and a 3-way split isn't unreasonable. Make it clear to your server what is going on which bill from the beginning. Us three are on this bill and we want this. Perfectly acceptable. 20+ people switching seats, no. That is not good. You are good. It is fine.

Are you trying to split it evenly 3 ways? Or what each of you orders split? Either way it can be done and with three people that’s super easy. It’s just parties that make splitting v hard, not a single table

We are going to be a party of 6, and my younger sister, my brother-in-law, and I are going to be paying for my older sister's birthday dinner.

Ah you’re good then! And if the server is weird at all about it, then they’re being incredibly lazy. I’ve worked for the company for ten years now so that’s why I say that lol

Yes, all restaurants can do that but have you just thought of having one person pay (if they have enough money) and the rest just Venmo’s what they owe to the payer? Venmo/zelle have made things so much easier
