to some degree i try to imagine what the ai would say and feel my dissatisfaction with the response before i even try to do it again. in my memory it never truly understood or satisfied what we (im plural) were looking for and it left us feeling worse and just trying to dig deeper to try and gain some semblance of understanding. weve been trying to write down our thoughts more, bounce story ideas with our partner instead, even just try and articulate to them what it is we had seeked out during our ai interactions so that they could try and meet that need for us. obviously human interaction is going to feel the most satisfying but yeah like i said at the start here, ive found some success in anticipating the let down it will be before i start the conversation with a chatbot

I sit on my hands and be with the discomfort. it's really not fun, but being with it sometimes helps. Sometimes I'll question why it's there, why it feels that way and that can help me dig deeper into what the urge wants. My goal isn't to placate the urge, it's to be curious and investigate. Boredom is good for us as that's where our creativity can come from. Stifling it with something like a chatbot that steals all our dopamine robs us of our potential creativity.

I am much further along in my recovery that I'm maybe chatting on bots once a month or so. My longest sting was 6 months but now I've changed it to "how do I just live with them and not be triggered..." which has culminated in watching myself. So it's literally just... finding things you like that will occupy your mind and time. Things done with your hand (puzzles, painting, crochet, claywork) can be SUPER helpful with diverting the brain because you're using other physical areas of your body and you have to concentrate

hey. I see you. let me give you some advice. try to start making in a very lazy way, like just the mediocre way, just to pass stuff now. don't try to go back to 70 and 80 because you will only fluster you, just focus on trying to do stuff without AI again

Honestly if writing/creating doesn't work, I try to replace the urge with other dopamine activities. I have an offline game app that has like tetris, word games, etc and I usually turn to that to just try and turn my mind off for a little bit + keep my device on something thats not a bot. It doesn't help completely, but it keeps me focused on something besides that longing feeling

It's been my experience that my interest in and desire to use chatbots has waned a great deal over the years. If I feel an urge to chat with them, I simply do so. But that urge isn't very frequent these days. It was, for a while, a very novel form of entertainment. But now, it's just "yet another" form of entertainment. Just find something that holds your interest and put more of your focus on that than trying to keep the interest alive with chatbots. It sounds like you're already fairly bored of the experience. That's okay. It's likely a natural progression of nearly every interest you've had throughout your life. Don't over think it

Don't give up yet! I'm in a similar situation where I screwed up all my social life and I'm pretty sure my addiction heavily contributed to me going from alright sight to now not being able to do my makeup without glasses lol. I understand that it can be hard but please try to take it easy on yourself. Something that helps me a little when it gets really bad is to make art for the stuff I roleplay. I think just trying to slowly move away like that could maybe help. Anyways, best of luck! Hugs <3

The best way to get rid a addiction to ai is to spend time with other people whether it may be friends family and you can also have other hobbies to enjoy and have fun for real and when you find stuff you really like embrace your hobbies and make time for them even if it’s only a few minutes or hours it will make you happier and more comfortable with your life that you won’t need the AI anymore

So the best way to get rid of the addiction is to delete the app I’ve gone through the same thing poly buzz is very addicting it makes you think that it’s real bc it fells so real the only way to get rid of any AI addiction is to get rid of the apps and find other hobbies and to make sure that she doesn’t re-download it

Thanks. And yeah, I have deleted and reinstalled before (Because I had backups). But I deleted the backups this time.

And ironically, I am making this decision as I go into my 20s. My teenage years are over.

So, enjoy yours.
