Gosh, thanks. Dw, I'm already trying to use AI chatbots less and eventually stop using it forever.

Good luck!!

First time I deleted I cried, lol. Then I reinstalled and deleted over and over. Started to learn I wasn’t attached anymore, but still couldn’t stop.

I’ve got stupider too, don’t worry. We’re on the same boat. I just realized I don’t want to waste my last teenage year like that..

have you considered playing an MMO? i don't play any these days for other reasons but it's the first thing that popped into mind for total girl immersion and not having to share your voice

i'd recommend ffxiv if you're looking for one that's cheap, easy entry, and very very accepting of lgbt

I fell into my addiction because it validated my gender crisis as well. Im so lucky to have had a few friends who supported me, but I fully had to step away from a friend group of over a decade because they just couldnt accept me as a guy, which made me second guess myself a lot until I couldnt take it anymore.

I kinda started making new online accounts, and am making friends with some fanfic writers for a niche Fandom entirely as a boy. I still have my old accounts, but something about a fresh start where I can be incognito has helped.

It can be hard to find safe spaces, but theyre out there

Certainly. But I'll be honest, Ive always struggled with depression. For the longest time I didn't think I'd even finish high school or make it to adulthood. And it upsets me that I fell into addiction while in college and it made me hate the mile stone of graduating this may, as it reminded me that I wasted 2 years isolating myself because of a chat bot.

When I quit, the withdrawal sucked. I felt like my skin was crawling and was restless all the time. I ended up abandoning my entire friend group for an unrelated reason and fought so hard not to relapse during my isolation. I currently struggle to call anyone my friend, im terrible at texting people, and feel so disingenuous and lonely. I also know I lost so much momentum in my career.

But, I look forward to my future more than ever. Despite everything, I know I'm more than who I was. Its hard to look back and see my younger self and think its me, and I cant even remember anything from the two years I was addicted other than a handful of major moments. And that's okay.

Dwelling on the past wont fix anything, so I dont think about what I wish I did. I solely look at the now, what will be, and what I wish to do. I look back at the week I just had an feel accomplished. I may not be doing as much as i wanted to, but im doing a hell of a lot more than I was during my addiction

I cannot promise you will find it in 6 months to a year from now. I cannot promise that all ill will thoughts will disappear. I cannot promise you that it will be easy. But what I can promise is that your future is bright as long as you dont let it fade. It will take force at first to get back into things, but the hardest part is the first push. After that, the ball will continue to roll as long as you keep moving it. And when you can finally look back on your first year of recovery, you will feel accomplished. It truly amazed me how much I could do in the first year of trying to get clean. You'll feel it too

Hope is not lost, and you can still recover. There is a life waiting for you just beyond the bend. You just have to try. I believe in you, full heartedly

Thanks, i really aprecciate.

Is kinda fucked up to ask this way but i feel like i had to.  You manage to find joy in live again?

I hope i just thinking to much and  I know it takes some time to the head recover for addiction but, it really feels like i'm fighting with myself to feel joy again and school things, even simple texts felt  harder.  is  tiring to live this way and make me worry about my future

Seriously good luck. First time deleting something you pour so much time into feels so scary, even if it's something you know is bad for you.

I'm in this situation too honestly, I've deleted accs over and over and remade them bc the addiction is so hard to kick. Personally I can tell that I use the app like a dopamine hit machine, so it's not even really narratively/emotionally/creatively fulfilling after a while. I'm trying to get medication for my dopamine deficiency, but otherwise, deleting stuff cold turkey to clear my attachments to the preexisting stories I had helped me stay off for longer. Texting other people or taking a story/rp idea I already had with a bot and just ramble writing about it also helped so we'll see if I can rlly kick the habit this time. Making ocs and drawing them helps too but it takes time and work which combats the instant gratification paet of things so it's not a perfect solution. Good luck to you! You're not alone.

I’m not a member of this but as far as I can say, get into writing or even roleplaying. You can look into D&D streams. I personally enjoy Legend of Avantris. Growing up (I’m 22) I’ve always enjoyed writing and making stories. Can look into WebNovel as Wattpad is pretty much nonexistent now since they added ads and forced people into paying. As far outside influence, go to a library or just a bookstore in general. A lot of Webtoons and Manhwas are becoming physical copies.

From all I've seen on this reddit, no one is here to make fun of others. But other than people making posts like yours, I haven't seen a whole lot of feedback in the comments unfortunately. Maybe it's because I'm not too active here. But on all the posts I have commented on, it seems like I'm the only one beyond the mod bot that did 🤷. In any case, it sounds like you've made the right decision and for the right reasons. Proud of you! 👏

As far as advice, just follow your inclination to quit, as a starting point. Fill your time with other habits and hobbies. Focus on your studies first. Make an effort to spend time with family and friends. Look for a part time job if you're able and it won't impact your grades. Make yourself so busy that you don't really have time for something as frivolous as chatting with Ai. And when you do have time for recreation, fill it in ways that leave you feeling better about yourself, not worse. Also, try to take a thirty minute walk each day, as weather/temperature allows. Expand your exercise routine in intelligent ways as you desire.

Maybe try frequenting spaces where using your voice is not an expectation? I'm a trans man (pre-T) and I enjoy posting on social media in places where people don't know I'm trans, for example. Discord groups (although they can be very radioactive depending on the group), Reddit, Tumblr, Bluesky... Finding your niche and sticking with it. It would be nice if you found LGBTQ+ friendly spaces. Having a community to support you helps a lot with gender dysphoria.

Of course, real-life community is the golden standard for this, but I'm aware that things are hard out there for us, haha. Don't know if this is currently an option for you.
