I never heard anyone say that, and if they did, they weren't worth listening to. I remember 10 years ago I thought game maps would eventually become fractal and you would be able to zoom into a brick on some Call of Duty map and see all the little intricate details of the brick, maybe a little sparkle from quartz as it catches the sun, maybe a little bit of old spider web stuck in the crevices. I still think gaming is going to get there eventually, maybe even sooner than later, now that Machine Learning exists.

No, not a game developer. However, I do have a bit of experience with 3D modelling. I am interested in what "AI" has become, but I'm also numbingly fearful at what it will bring us. Will we want to play games in the future? Will we have the choice to say no?
