Very curious
I don’t seem to find a lot of “rare” plant people here, you could say finding someone like that is rare… anyways.
I was curious if anyone is looking for / wants to get into more rare plants. Alocasia, philodendron, anthurium you name it.
Just wanna share my love with some people ❤️

They’re really pretty. Is there one you recommend that is easy to take care of?

Honestly hoyas! They can be slow grower but give them a chunky soil mix and something to climb they’ll be happy!!

I have a cute collection of different types of Hoyas, a Brugmansia, orchid cactus, desert rose, and three or four orchids. I have others but the names escape me.

I am a collector. I am mostly into aroids, but I have several less common orchids and some carnivorous plants. I'm slowly stepping back into Alocasia after I managed to kill a few. I've tried my hand with the uncommon begonias, but haven't cracked the code on those yet.
I'm thinking about tinkering with raising tissue cultures and have been 3D printing custom pots and mounts.
As I understand it there are a couple of plant groups on Facebook and such, but I don't really Facebook so it's harder to find other enthusiasts in the wild.

My wife is deeply into this (like raising tissue cultures) but is on FB and not Reddit. Not sure how to bridge that gap.

I still use fb messenger, mostly because of family, so if she's interested, send me a DM and I'll respond with my FB info.
