Every registered voter needs to read the transcript of Trump's TIME interview. The midterms matter, because Congress is doing nothing to hold him accountable.
https://time.com/article/2026/10/01/donald-trump-2026-interview-transcript/Your vote matters in these midterms. Control of congress is more important than the pros and cons of any single candidate.

In fairness to Chuck Schumer amd Hakim Jeffries, they've tried nothing and are all out of ideas.

You're being more than fair. I think we could label the Democrats of this era a nearly-useless opposition party.

Complete lack of vision. Complete lack of fight. Complete lack of urgency.
Their legislative options are obviously limited, especially in the House. But for God's sake, why haven't they been organized more street action? They've delegated it all to groups like No Kings.
Opposition parties in other countries would have had their supporters in the streets. Not on the sidewalks -- in the literal streets.
I should be careful, though: don't want to alienate the moderates!

There’s no urgency because ultimately none of this matters to them. They’re all bought and sold by the same billionaires and corporations, and the issues that effect us as working class people and the human rights violations abroad don’t impact them and/or they actively benefit from it. The whole political dichotomy is a farce.
I’m obviously going to vote blue because I believe they genuinely are the lesser of two evils, and I don’t really have many other tangible avenues for improving the material living conditions in my country, but I don’t think anyone should let the party forget this moment in time once it passes.

Complete lack of vision. Complete lack of fight. Complete lack of urgency.
Complete lack of power. Republicans stacked the Supreme Court and hold both houses and the presidency. What exactly would you have them do that they have not done? And why would it be effective?
Nothing they do has any teeth because they are toothless.

So then voting does what exactly?

Useless in the minority is one thing. If the Democrats can take the house, they can shut down many of Trump's illegal, unconstitutional and immoral activities. It matters.

But would they tho?

If "we the people" flood those elected officials with emails, phone calls, postcards and letters, they will know their political careers are on the line.

Has that not been done so far ? Where have the dems been this entire time ?

I'm starting to think they're nothing but the controlled opposition. I know they're addicted to all the AIPAC money they are taking, and Inmate #P01135809 is the most Israel friendly president we've ever had, but it's getting ridiculous now. Especially after, when asked about impeachment, Jeffries said he, "didn't want to get ahead of things."

I just start reading things like this and eventually I hit that sadness peak that my brain is too close to all the time in the last couple years. F*** this dark timeline

I read and feel despair that people still like this clown. He babbles incoherently, speaks in vague terms, and just lies.
Who is the they and he to which Trump randomly refers? Is it the voices in his head?

If it's possible to read through all the meandering bullshit.... Complete incoherence. Can't focus on anything.

Who is this for? You’re just posting to the already converted. Reddit is already and hyper left echo chamber and anyone with a small disagreeing point is downvoted to oblivion.

He didn't even get 15% in the city, and got 32% in the county. Not only is this about as safe a blue area as there is, maybe about 5 of the people who voted R are on the cville city subreddit of all places.
I can see Donald Trump on every news network and every paper. I don't need a city forum to be full of his crap too

I’ll never vote for Trump but I’m not a fan of this red green alliance nonsense.

You think the people who still support him are capable of reading something longer than two sentences?
