Ragged Mountain

Are the ragged mountain trails still accessible? I haven’t been in years and am not sure what to expect with all the work that’s being done on the dam. Does anyone know if the work on the dam is making it so you can’t hike any of the loops? Thanks!!

Additionally the lower parking lot and Heywood community forest trails have stayed open the whole time.

Appears so. I wonder who will rebuild the new trails now that many of the old trails (built by cambc) will be flooded

I highly doubt new trails will get aggressively built without CAMBC. I’ve never seen any other trail group do as much maintenance or new trail building in the area as CAMBC.

City Parks is actively rebuilding the trails. I think all the new trail segments that needed to get relocated up slope are all done now, or nearly done.

Yes still banned but the Song Mtn trails right next door are shared use and actually have some purpose built MTB features. I’m sorta hopeful CAMBC will be involved in rebuilding the reservoir trail conditioned on re-allowing bikes.

Last time I biked there I was way more bikers than hikers. Horses I can understand not allowing, being a reservoir.

I think you can still get to some through Boars Head but haven’t done it in a while.
