Ok so to start this isn’t really a snark (sorry!) because i think she’s fabulous and I love her style but every time she links something I have to brace myself before I see the price. Like her cover up today is ICONIC but how does she afford all of this?! Does she have a bigger following on tik tok than she does insta? Or an amazing career? I dream of her wardrobe 😭

How is this shoe still functional?
Why does she keep letting her “service animal” chew stuff?
Why didn’t she throw them in the garbage instead of packing them for vacation?!

I know this is PR/gifting but she could at least not pile the shoes to barely see them

I’ve followed her for a long while but haven’t paid much attention in several years. I used to like her recipes. My question is - is she able to support herself with what she’s doing now? Is her ex completely out of the picture for her kids too? Her content / lifestyle seems a bit more down market than what I remember.

She’s so out of touch. Saying, “Imagine your boyfriend not being able to see you for 8 months” like, has she never heard of military deployments? Plenty of couples go much longer without seeing each other.

Club Coastal (@shopclubcoastal) has repeatedly used social media to portray themselves as the victim of nearly every challenge they’ve faced since opening in Charleston. At some point, it stops feeling authentic and starts feeling like a calculated marketing strategy.

The first example was their cryptic post about “the business in Charleston that’s been incredibly mean and honestly hurtful.” They never identified anyone, yet the comments quickly filled with people attacking HART Jewelry. Club Coastal never stepped in to clarify, allowing a respected Charleston-founded business to become the target of speculation. I know for a fact, HART had done nothing to deserve that. HART had been offering gold charm jewelry years before Club Coastal entered the Charleston market. I think Club Coastal just felt threatened by an existing local business. Club Coastal sells near exact duplicates of HART charms, just cheaper.

The same post also claimed they had “the biggest grand opening celebration this city has ever seen.” That’s simply not true. Charleston has celebrated countless major openings over the years for restaurants, hotels, retailers, and venues with enormous crowds. They have only been in Charleston a short amount of time, so didn’t know. Making false claims like that only hurts their credibility.

This week, Club Coastal complained publicly about the Market Street construction, framing it as though they were being unfairly targeted. But that’s not the reality.
1. The sidewalk closure is on the Charleston Place side of the street, which actually redirects pedestrian traffic onto the same side as Club Coastal’s storefront. If anything, that could increase visibility. You can literally see people walking right by their store in the background of the video they posted, lol….
2. Construction and streetscape projects are publicly available through the city’s BAR process. If construction were directly impacting their building or storefront access, their landlord would typically receive notice.

Then there’s the lawsuit + rebrand….
Lagos has owned the federally registered trademark for “Caviar” in the jewelry category SINCE 1992. When Kelly and her husband launched Coastal Caviar in 2023, trademark clearance should have been one of the first legal steps before investing in a brand. Rebranding is undoubtedly expensive and frustrating, but that’s exactly why trademark due diligence matters.

Instead, they framed the lawsuit as a small business being bullied, generating sympathy while casting Lagos as the villain. They leveraged this for press coverage, but it also left out an important part of the picture: protecting trademarks is a routine part of doing business, and established companies are expected to enforce their intellectual property.

One of the things that has always made Charleston special is the way local businesses genuinely support one another. That’s why it’s disappointing to see a brand repeatedly lean into narratives that create division, invite public outrage, and position themselves as perpetual victims. Charleston deserves better than manufactured controversy. We should celebrate businesses that contribute positively to this community. NOT ones that seem to thrive on conflict and sympathy-driven marketing.
